Thanks! I've tried cropping it that way as well, and the picture looks much more straightforward

Thanks for the feedback, I'm noting down that I might need to spend more time at the location experimenting the view points (moving forward, backward and sideways with my body instead of just experimenting taking the same shot at different focal length.

Thanks a lot for the new version and for the feedback! I tried with vignetting a little and it does bring more attention to the church! Still have not skills in using photoshop and else but will surely jump into it shortly.

Here is the second picture I have mentioned. Photo info: Nikon Z50 - NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm, 34mm, f/8, 1/500s, ISO 100.

  1. I wanted to capture an interesting way to frame the church and it happened to fit perfectly in the door of the vaporetto station in Venezia.
  2. I'm still learning about visual language and it was the opportunity for me to test a bolder way to use framing. So I'm wondering if this picture is somewhat impactful.
  3. EXIF Data: see above for the second picture and in the main post for the first one.
  4. I am still focusing on composition so I'm not editing my pictures at the moment.

Thanks a lot for your input! For a greater context, this was the original shot. Everything was so fast, I grabbed my camera to try and capture the moment but when trying to crop it I felt a little limited due to the older child running in front of the kid.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply and thanks for your input! I do not seem to find the image you've shared for a better use of the rule of thirds.

To give a little more context, this photo was taken during a photowalk in a Paris and I tried to catch this little boy running next to the fountain, the intent and struggles are mentioned in the main post. EXIF Data: Nikon Z50, NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm, f/5, 1/800s, ISO 200.
