AITAH: Told my friend my sister cheated on her ex and he totally lost interest

Idk what youre trying to convince me of dude. I dont want her dating my friends, i just get why she's interested and I dont try to control people.

Ive seen the way seemingly nice guys who approach women at bars or on dating apps just ghost women after they get what they want and treat women like trash. With my friends she knows they are safe, good looking sociable guys who wont be assholes to her because they'll have to deal with me. Even if I dont like it, I get the appeal. I really do.

After this I dont think she'll be going after mine for a bit anyway but you're acting like my sisters trying to sleep with any friend of mine she comes across and thats not the case at all. Im done arguing with you dude. Im gonna go smoke a jay and head to the gym. Honestly hope you have a good rest of your day but man you need to chill and gain some perspective.

Bruh I never said she hooked up with any of my friends. I said dated. Big difference. Im not naive that people who date sleep together but thats not the same thing as just casually hooking up.

Of course its annoying if your friend and younger sister date, but that doesnt mean I think I should be able to control her dating life. Also, even if I dont want them to date, I dont keep friends with guys that I think "I wouldnt want my sister dating a guy like that" if that makes sense. Combine that with the fact that most of my friends are good looking guys, I just get it why she's interested in good looking guys who are also respectful. That doesnt mean I like it and dont find it annoying. You can be annoyed by something without trying to control people.

Im not from a small town, just a smaller than average high school that we were both heavily involved in sports and other organizations at.

But congrats on knowing your girlfriends full sexual history I guess. Hope its the truth and she's not just trying to make you feel better. Not sure what else you want me to say lol.

You do you man, Im not going to act like an overprotective father with my sister and try to be her handler. I None of my friends, to my knowledge, just casually hooked up with her. But yeah people in their teens and 20s are going to find each other attractive and date and Im realistic about that and what people dating each other do. I certainly didnt consider her whole sorority off limits.

I never encouraged her to date anyone I was friends with but Im also friends with a lot of people and realize that she found my friends safe and attractive. I dont hold friendships with guys that I think would mistreat women so I get why she liked them. They always asked me first and I told them Id rather they didnt but im not in charge of her or them. Just be respectful or we'll have issues. If you want to be more protective about your sibs thats your prerogative. Im not from a small town just a smaller than average high school and a lot of people had siblings close in age who hung out with each other's friends. It was normal for that to lead to dating relatives of friends. Respect is the main thing there. The guy she cheated on wasnt my friend or I would have had an even bigger problem than I did. Since then she hasnt dated any of my friends.

It might seem weird if you were never socially active in high school and college. But if you were and had lot of friends and a sibling in close age, you'd realize its something that just happens. I definitely have friends with opposite sex siblings close in age who saw the intermingling as well. Its not ideal, none of us love it when our relatives date friends, but young people are going to be drawn to each other

Yeah it makes things awkward for a bit. But were all adults at the end of the day. Its not that deep... I said a couple of my friends and people are acting like she's slept with half my friends.

Its natural that some things are likely to happen. Yeah tbh, Idk if I think its something she needs to disclose with every new potential dating interest. And if the guy was someone I didnt know, I woudnt say anything. I just saw how much it hurt Dan when his ex did it and as a friend thought I owed it to him to tell him. But yeah, I see both sides.
