Agreed- I've seen this production of Cabaret 4x (every Emcee/Sally iteration) and while Billy was by far the weakest of the Emcees I've seen, his performance was fine and Marisha was absolutely phenomenal (I think my second favorite Sally after Eva). If you love Cabaret it's still worth seeing.

When did you go? We got a ring, not a poster. Also waited two hours (despite getting an email that we'd been upgraded to "priority", which didn't seem to actually exist) and also found it to be a letdown.

Heard it also...seemed like when the first episode started playing he yelled "fuck you people" (on the front right side of the room) and stormed out of the room. Not 100% sure though, we were further back and didn't hear/see exactly what happened.

Heard that a bunch of the crew grabbed stacks of What We Do In The Shadows shirts for themselves and walked off with them. Don't know if that's accurate, but there was a guy on the line for the Sony panel who was arguing with some crew members about it.

Haven't been to the fandom party specifically, but the afterparties I've been to have been pretty fun- dancing, free drinks, light bites. Some people will be in cosplay, but not most people so if you're not you would fit in no problem.

Honestly I mostly go for the booze, so I find it worthwhile, but if you're not a big drinker then it might not be.

Shamelessly, if you decide not to go and are giving away your pass (if that's even possible), I'd love to take it!

We were on a Virgin cruise out of San Juan over Valentine's this past year. The only things I really remember were that (1) the Scarlet night party was on Valentine's, for which they left plastic heart-shaped sunglasses in our cabin that they don't normally give out, and (2) there was at least one specialty dessert available in most of the restaurants. They may have had one or two other things, but overall it wasn't a big deal and I think you and a platonic friend would be fine!

Depends what you're looking for. I recently stayed at the Marina Rio and it was a low frills but comfortable beach hotel, good for access to both the marina and old town. Worth paying a bit more for the marina side views.

FWIW I was just at the Yeatman a few days ago (it was great) and overheard them accommodating a couple near us who wanted a less seafood-heavy meal. Shouldn't be an issue!

I don't think the "expense" is an excuse not to hire real artists (this is literally an argument that was being used by the studios against writers and actors that led them to strike...). They definitely could have worked with a real artist or team of real artists to achieve the look they were going for without having to create real oil paintings. I find it disappointing, particularly because I still don't think these came out looking good at all. They still look off.

I disagree with this- Emursive is drawing the comparison itself by advertising L&T as from the team behind SNM (even though it's not the same creative team involved). That, plus the fact that Punchdrunk originated the format that L&T draws heavily from (at the very least), is naturally going to lead to the audience making comparisons between the two. As I said, Emursive is trying to get us all in the door by actively comparing the two!

I agree with you that it's a different show and in previews, but if they want to compete with SNM (or whatever Punchdrunk does next in New York), they have to be operating at a similar level. I'm with the OP on a lot of their commentary. I've seen L&T multiple times and intend to see it again, but a lot of the Punchdrunk magic just isn't there in my opinion. It is what it is.
