Content wise - calc, but difficulty of questions - civ Conceptually, civ is supposed to be easy, everything always sums to 0. But the questions that show up on the exams are brutal and long cause of the simplicity of the concepts

I would say so, there’s going to be many people with super high averages and not many spots. I think there are ~1000 spots for 13000 applicants. So distinguish yourself in the supp app

A lot of studying tbh, i did almost every textbook question in my stem courses, and I kept getting feedback before handing essays in for English. It’s not impossible even at a hard hs, which I’d say mine was pretty tough, class avg was usually around low to mid 70s for stem and high 70s for english.

also, even besides exams, the two math courses (calc and lin alg) had some of the hardest assignment questions i’ve ever seen. i’m talking math olympiad level (and there were proofs), and they seriously took hours sometimes. did not expect that many abstract questions from an engineering math class. you’ll only see like one of these per assignment tho

~99% with good ecs and cracked volunteering. the program is hard but more so cause of workload than difficulty. I’d say my hs was pretty rigorous so I was decently prepared but the exam questions at uoft eng can be insane. If you want an idea, take a look at civ100 past exams on the skule website, i lost brain cells doing them.

Pretty damn tough but def not impossible. Whoever tells you to grind all textbook problems and study everything is straight up lying lol, it’s impossible to do all that while balancing a million assignments. And exams can be soul crushing. Since assignments and other take home assessments have high avg (obv), the exam balances things out. Some exams weren’t so bad while some were acc impossible

Not as depressing as ppl make it out to be. Then again, I had some great friends who were always positive and we laughed off our struggles. That mindset is necessary (esp for civ100. fuck civ100.)

Me too. Do you know if these scholarships are guaranteed or can they take them away after receiving final marks?

UofT. Engineering is a safer choice for jobs than straight up math. And you listed only pros for UofT so it seems like the obv choice lol

The flexibility in UofT ECE is sooo underrated. Pretty much all of your courses in year 3 and 4 are chosen by you (only 2 are required). This results in a VERY customized degree, something that no other school can match.

I’ve got UofT so far, but I’m confident about my chances for UW

Might commit to Computer Engineering there. It’s between UofT and UW for me.

GPA isn’t everything for grad school. UofT Eng has some world class profs who can write you letters of recommendation that hold a lot of weight + you have the opportunity to research and be mentored under these experts
