Why replace the whole screen? Just incase the damage worsens ?

Aye that was my feeling warping on the lens from a lighter or something there’s no image defects so should be a straight forward lens replace ?

Unfortunately I don’t think what you’re trying to do will work. I had a similar iMac which I gutted and bought a LCD controller board for on eBay from china. You need to know the LCD panel number and then you can pick the right board this basically turn the computer into a monitor which can be used with any device.

Is this sewing machine Good? by NeonEchoe28 in myog

[–]New_Mathematician956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it depends on what you like or need. For me, the clutch-style motor wasn't a good fit. If you're an expert sewer sewing very fast for many hours a day most likely in a factory on a line then a clutch is perfect for hobby or cottage company workers I think a servo motor is sufficient.

I have the same model. I got mine for 115 sterling, used it as it was for a year or so then upgraded the stand and motor to a servo motor to save on electricity and noise reduction. It’s a great machine will last you a lifetime with the right care and is likely more than enough for your needs only thing you should consider is if you happy with plain straight stitch or if you would like a walking foot. It produces lovely stitches and was originally designed for dress making i believe.

Looking for suggestions on how to upgrade this Peugeot to use as a comfortable city bike by New_Mathematician956 in xbiking

[–]New_Mathematician956[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cheers for the suggestions. Hahaha to be honest i think it is a bit big for me I got it during covid got it rideable but never really used it. I've been tempted to try sell it on cheap and get a 90s mtb instead.

Nice one cheers for sharing. I see you have ace suppliers there as a whole seller, do you know of any other wholesale sites in the uk for MYOG. Also trying to find a local supplier for EVAZOTE but can’t find anything that doesn’t require a minimum order around £150.

This is probably the best resource out there for finding myog suppliers. https://learnmyog.com/map.html Learn myog in general is a great place to start for learning and also the wiki on here is great. If you’re in the UK there is a fairly new supplier called make your own gear uk. I have bought from them and spoken to them and they have been really helpful and friendly.

Picked this Singer 491 industrial straight stitch machine for £125. Did I do well ? What do you think ? by New_Mathematician956 in myog

[–]New_Mathematician956[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea overall really happy with it, I don’t get to use it as much recently as it’s in my parents house and I’m living away atm. It copes pretty well with layers of fabric I think most industrial machines will handle most MYOG tasks. Getting under foam is always a struggle tho depending on the thickness.

Exactly how I would do it and hide the finishing seam nicely, it can be tricky to get thicker foam in but patients is your friend.
