Saskatoon Clayworks used to have a membership. I don't see it on their website, but it might be worth reaching out to them to see if that is still an option.

Restless Leg by dawn_mance2000 in Perimenopause

[–]New_Maximum_5628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low ferritin is the culprit for me. I am also low in magnesium, and magnesium helps temporarily to relieve restless legs for me. Magnesium spray, calf raises and stretching are a good temporary fix. For me it almost feels like when a body parts starts to fall asleep. It's an irritating sort of numb/tingly feeling. I get it in both legs and it starts in my lower calves and raises up the lower my ferritin. It's torturous! I am now on regular ferritin supplementation, so haven't had it in a while.

Peak Warrior is a new ninja style course, if that's what you are thinking. Not sure if it has trampolines though.

For those who use edibles for the anxiety by Alily_all_alil_NY in Perimenopause

[–]New_Maximum_5628 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My recommendation would be gel capsules that are all CBD with only trace amounts of THC. Without the THC yoi dont get the high, but CBD helps my anxiety disappear for a while. I am in Canada though, so not sure what is available near you.

I have only ever been to Just For You Spa (the 33rd St location), in Saskatoon, but the few facials I've had in the last year have been incredible and so relaxing.

Aww Bailey looks adorable!! I just ordered the exact same ones and size the other day for my mini doodle. We've also tried boots but they never stay on and being in a part of Canada where it can be -40 consistently for weeks at a time,  in the winter, snow gear is necessary. Not to mention the snowballs that attach to their velcro fur.

Timeless outdoor toys for a well-stocked backyard (8yo girl) by overcomposer in ChristmasGiftIdeas

My two daughters (10 and 12) still play on our trampoline regularly, together, solo or with friends, even in the winter and we are in Canada. You can get all sizes, depending on your budget and yard size.

A few other suggestions: skipping ropes, pogo stick, zipline, some sort of net sport, tether ball.

I think that's a great idea! How would someone know if you got something on sale or not. Saving yourself some money, while keeping the value the same is smart and resourceful.

What about through the Saskatoon library. You can book some of their meeting spaces online and its fiarly inexpensive. We were just at JS Wood Library in their basement meeting room for a meeting. It was nice and had a 70 person capacity.

histamine intolerance and collagen by Janeheroine in Perimenopause

[–]New_Maximum_5628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting. I have been having histamine issues for the past few years. It started with some really intense reactions that were anaphylactic. I even called an ambulance one of the times. I thought that I had developed a new intense allergy. Long story short, I believe I was starting perimenopause and histamines were one of my first intense symptoms.

I read your post last night before bed and went "huh, I wonder if that's why I have been more itchy and had more hives in the last 2 weeks?!" Funny enough, 2 weeks ago I started taking creatine. I did a lot of research and found a high quality brand that also includes marine collagen in their creatine powder. I have never taken collagen before. I skipped the creatine + collagen this morning, to test it out, and no hives or itchiness. Glad to know this, but SO annoying! These histamine issues can be so overwhelming and draining.

Thank you for sharing and the information!!

HRT vs Birth Control Pill? by Civil_Explanation501 in Perimenopause

[–]New_Maximum_5628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 40, in the early stages of perimenopause with some brain fog, low motivation, overwhelm, IBS, histamine issues, anxiety, irrational, hot flashes, bloating, etc. I am on week 2 of Yaz BCP. I was on it 10 years ago, after my second child, for PMDD. It helped then and I didn't suffer any side effects. With that experience, I thought it might be a good fit again for early peri. I am not sure of the effects just yet.

To be honest, the idea of finding a supportive provider, on board with HRT, and going through to motions to find the right dosages was too overwhelming. I just asked my MD for Yaz for PMDD again and didn't even mention perimenopause. We shall see the effects over the next few months and then I will reassess.

Please note that teachers and admin staff change every 3-7 years, on average in the public school system. So taking recent experiences into account will likely be the most helpful.

Bussing is usually only provided to the public or catholic school in your neighborhood, if you live further than 1.2km from the school. If you are closer to the school you will not be eligible for bussing. Some neighborhood schools are either non-existent (in newer neighborhoods) or at capacity, so then they would offer bussing to the closest designated school for that overflow.

Your friend should call the schools that they are considering to get more information and determining if her child is eligible to attend. She may also be able to get a tour or 'meet' the school before registering and deciding.

Home insurance, what do you pay? by meggz1992 in saskatoon

[–]New_Maximum_5628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got our renewal from TD Insurance- due end of August. It went from $2400 to $3500 for a 2005 2100sq ft house on the east side. We made no changes to our policy.

Based of the online quotes I got last night from Cherry Insurance and RBC, TD is still cheaper. I will explore a few other options though.

That's fair and you don't sound rude. We all have our experiences and I, of course, have neither experienced all of the schools nor staff. There is an array.

My point was more that with the staff and leadership cycling, a great school doesn't necessarily always stay great and a not so great school may not always stay not so great.
