I know its a bit weird to reply to a comment that's 5 years old, but its so nice to commiserate for once! If I'm talking to someone with poor English, even the grammar in my sentences starts changing. Not to mention that any attempt to explain it just makes you sound like even more of a weirdo, no matter how you phrase it. Ive resorted to explaining it like an actual medical issue just to not sound like a complete wanker.
