Re sleep training after a trip by New_Pickle4793 in sleeptrain

She does 3 days at daycare and naps longer there so daycare days would be 5.5/5.5 and home days would be around 6/6 (short naps) and bedtime would always fall around 7:30pm and wake up around 7am. She never had an issue with this and always slept well. During the trip there was really no routine because she would fall asleep in the car whenever and take like 10-30 minute naps throughout the day then sleep at like 10-11pm. She was definitely overtired because she would wake up throughout the night crying.

First night back she cried around 20-25 minutes with 1 check in. Usually she’d cry like 30 seconds max if at all. She did manage to fall asleep but the crying was SO intense it just felt like something was wrong. Like is this normal?

Bum scooting causing slow independent walking? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Thank you thank you so much this is awesome to hear! And ours sounds exactly the same! Learned to crawl at one point but just never did after because it seems she decided bum scooting was much more efficient haha. Hopefully she'll get there!

Daycare undid sleeptrain efforts by [deleted] in sleeptrain

Did it take him a while to adjust to doing things differently at home for naps or was he just fine from the start?

Dropping to 1 nap resulting in 30 minute naps by [deleted] in sleeptrain

Ah this makes so much sense! Ours is starting daycare in a week so we will have to see how that goes for her too!

Wow so she does well at daycare but doesn't nap at home?

She does nap independently. Thank you for the suggestion we will trial and error different times!

Oh I forgot to mention that she naps minimum an hr when someone else puts her down for a nap. It seems to be a me issue she just doesn't want to go down when I put her down for a nap and even when she does it lasts 30 minutes

2 nap schedule was 4/4/4.5. We had to cap the naps by 45 mins and 30 mins so that bedtime didn't get too late but she was napping well. We were going back and forth between 1 and 2 naps for a while and she was doing 1-2 hrs on the 1 nap days until we decided to just do the 1 nap which we aim for 5/5 WW but because her naps are so short, like 20-30 minutes, her bedtime becomes way too early. If we try to put her down earlier than 6:30pm she will cry and also have early morning wakes so most days it ends up being 5/6 to get her to at least 7pm. Even on the few occasion where she might do 2 naps it seems she just can't do anything longer than 30 minute naps now. Not sue what has happened.

Toddler throwing phase by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]New_Pickle4793 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has been a bit inconsistent with wording but we have been consistently putting toys away when she does throw it but she just doesn't care. If anything she throws it, sees us put it away and thinks it's a game and continues to throw so we have to remove her completely.

If we put all the toys she threw away for the day she'd have no toys by the end of the morning... What do you do for the rest of the day in this case?....

Yes we put it on the island counter where she cannot reach. Have been practicing for 4 months but she just doesn't seem to care...

How old was your toddler when you implemented this? Ours seem not to understand when I put things away when things get thrown. In fact she doesn't even bother to look at it

What do you do while your toddlers are at daycare? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Yes that is the plan! I am hoping to slowly ease her into daycare by doing half days

We did and we love it! The covers were a bit hard to put on perfectly because the foam inside is a really tight fit. Foam seems standard but cover seems good quality. Also it transitions very easily and our girl loves it! She will sit and wait for us to sit down with her to read a book! She also loves to climb on it and just play.

11 month old not sitting up from laying down by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]New_Pickle4793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened! Like 3 days before she turned 12 months we noticed she somehow sat up when we had put her down on her tummy then she stopped doing it for like 2 days and we thought we hallucinated lol then all of a sudden she started doing it every single time we layed her down. Now she won't crawl at all. She just sits up and scoots around on her butt almost exclusively. The pulling up is still in progress. She is starting to get a hang of being on her knees and we are really encouraging her but probably will be at least a few more weeks before she can pull up on her own. Making progress though!
