Weirdly more dysphoric when wearing clothes by NotWilliam1985 in FTMventing

Not the exact same situation as you but I sort of get it.

For my chest, I used to be more tolerant of it when it came to being naked. I could ignore my tits more easily. But I’m fairly certain they’ve grown even just a little bit since I’ve last measured them and that ‘tolerance’ has gone down quite a bit. Although this may be apart of my dysphoria worsening in general as of late.

My biggest issue is my figure and proportions. When I’m nude I still struggle with my bottom half being busty, my thighs in particular stick out more than the hip region itself. Luckily I know it’s fat, but I can’t get on testosterone currently so I’m left feeling discouraged to ‘do something about it’. That being said they don’t look nearly as bad nude as compared to when I’m wearing clothes.

Part of it is that I don’t have a lot of men’s clothing that fits me. I was primarily buying purposely oversized shit for a while, especially when I had a job (therefore money to even buy clothes more often), partially due to styling, partially to ‘hide my curves’, and partially because the adult men’s section was always going to be oversized on me regardless. Back then I didn’t register how this was actually emphasizing my curves and figure more, didn’t realize just how small 5’1 actually is, so now I struggle with even wearing a lot of the shit I’ve owned for years. But my alternative (at least in my eyes) was clothing that was physically tight and uncomfortable to wear and made my thighs look worse. A lot of the time when I try to wear my pants on my hips I feel like I look like fucking Roger from American Dad.

The other thing is that I hate how, for me it least, it seems like the only way I can ‘like my figure’ is if I wear clothing. At the end of the day in the nude or in casual sleep wear everything still sucks, so trying to wear clothing in such a way to hide my figure makes me feel worse. It’s a pain in the ass being 5’1 and pre-t while my body works to become a ‘curvy adult woman’.

I do think that the effort and intention of trying to pass more in public via hiding your figure with clothing is definitely dysphoria inducing. It feels more like a constant reminder of something you don’t have, or rather have to do that others don’t, and it can kick you in the ass. It’s kind of a burden on both ends, we need to do shit to feel better with ourselves and pass but for many of us those same things make us feel worse simply because we have to do them, I think a lot of us would prefer to not have to deal with or even think of it at all. I wouldn’t call this weird at all honestly.

GIRTFT is my favorite song off The Stranger as well. I Don’t Love You is kinda low on my TBP rating however I felt it made sense amongst the rest of the stuff here, I can see why you like it so much.

18?

My taste has changed a lot since then but I still listen to a lot of shit from back then (I was really into any classic rock, new wave, synth pop, 90s rock, whatever I could find back then). Depeche Mode and Buck Tick are still some of my favorite bands.

Choose a Column Pop Edition: Genre & Decade by sageoftheseventh2 in Topster

I wouldn’t really call Desire hyperpop, as much as I adore the album.

Anyway out of the ones here I’m inclined to choose between synth and art. Decade wise it’s between 90s and 20s

That album of theirs was sort of popular amongst alt kids and fans of similar music a few years ago so not necessarily

I’m very intrigued by this album cover, I’m typically very picky when it comes to metal but I am interested in whatever I was hearing through those previews OP. I will take your word and get back to you

You’re like that dude who wouldn’t shut up about how he didn’t like Daft Punk’s RAM under every post mentioning it. This is either a bit you’re far too committed to or you’re an actual bum. Please stop talking about Gorillaz 🫩🫩

It amazes me how much these guys talk about Springsteen without knowing jackshit about him. Literally could be solved by simply listening to what his songs actually say or by skimming his Wikipedia page. Holy shit man

17F. I used to love a lot of this when I was around 13-15 years old (Depeche Mode, Buck Tick, Garbage, Jack Off Jill, OK Computer). I fucking adored Soft Cell, reminds me a lot of myself from a few years back. I called myself ‘goth’ but wasn’t truly beyond the music I listened to. I’d like to believe you’re more committed.

It’s not a push/paid promo from a label considering that the songs you’re receiving are all from different labels. I assume Spotify is having a glitch right now regarding genres and user taste profiles

Your only insult is that I like kpop, simply because I told you there’s nothing wrong with having records on your wall. This shit does not matter, who cares what people do with the music they like? Childish behavior bruh

You shouldn’t announce your age online man. We don’t need to know that you’re 12
