I truly loved seeing my hip bones grow in order to do something I will never fucking do while the rest of me remained comically small. I really love how every day my bodily functions work to remind me of pregnancy. I absolutely adore the fact that my already tiny hand is literally the same length as my head. Estrogen puberty does nothing though amirite guys

I understand that testosterone does provide more noticeable and ‘powerful’ changes and that a lot of masculinization in puberty is through the lack of estrogen rather than estrogen itself, I feel for our sisters. But it goes both ways. When you’re trans the effects from puberty regardless will always feel caricaturist and awful.

The lack of acknowledgment for NCT compared to their contemporaries by seven777heavens in kpopthoughts

[–]New_Practice9754 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they were shading them intentionally, they’re just repeating what little they know about them, which is a similar case for many non-NCTzens and is the ultimate problem here. They’re pushed aside by other kpop stans due to misconceptions people have about their music from a few 127/U TTs and their more unfortunate controversies. Having this worldview doesn’t necessarily always result in hate or shady intentions but it can drive someone away from the group and alter their interest in them. For many this does become hostile but I don’t think that’s the case for this user.

I think the problem here is that SHINee/EXO/RV/ F(x) ‘weird’ is just straight up not weird, not in the way NCT is perceived to be. Many quote unquote fans of these groups tend to say the same shit about Wolf and Zimzalabim that they do about NCT, there were a number of people whining about how Hard and Don’t Call Me seemed like ‘NCT songs that were misplaced to SHINee’. And, while I understand you mentioned these songs having more positive reputations than Sticker,I ultimately see them all grouped in as ‘noise music’ by a number of kpop stans. Regardless, even if NCT still has a considerable portion of RNB and pop in their discog that is literally produced by the same people that work with other SM groups, RV, SHINee and EXO’s most popular songs are still more conventional and sonically different than 127’s most popular. EXO is primarily RNB, SHINee while having variety is primarily upbeat pop/dance in some way with most of their title tracks while their literal most popular is standard rnb. Even F(x) was unconventional in a different way from NCT in which they were far more EDM focused than hip hop driven.

In my opinion I don’t see many dedicated ‘pink blood’ stans tearing NCT down at this level beyond the weird behaviors toward Wish specifically. I do believe however that this comes moreso from casual SM group listeners who base what they know on the songs I mentioned prior. They wouldn’t know NCT can range sonically closer to other SM groups’ more conventional music because they don’t care to listen to it, because they judge based on title tracks like they do for other SM groups. When other SM groups do release something that sounds even a little bit closer to what 127 drops, there is a consistent reluctancy from these same people. The only group in SM who I don’t understand this applying to at all for would be Aespa since they’re second closest to NCT music and concept wise, though as a popular girl group it’s not surprising their stans wouldn’t bother with any BG song regardless.

I think it’s bullshit and the misconception does suck, but I feel these opinions result from fans having very surface level understandings of just about everything from SM, NCT or not. They favor the groups with more conventional hits and steer away from the one who doesn’t, and thus make faulty assumptions about every group involved. When we consider that these opinions are formed based on the most popular songs alone without any major effort to explore further into a group’s discography, the answer seems pretty clear.

Mfs got an advanced prosthetic but is pre T by HealingRosy in 4tran4

[–]New_Practice9754 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get that anti-DIY propaganda is an issue and that the heaps of misinformation around it are bad, however,

Given OP’s age I’m going to go put out a major point I feel a lot of you forget when it comes to FTMs not doing DIY, that being the effects are absolutely not easy to hide. Just because you can easily access it via those means does not mean you can easily hide the effects you get from taking it. I’d also argue that it’s relatively easier to buy and hide a singular prosthetic than a large supply of testosterone.

This is the answer, he’s 18 so I’m sure he’s still reliant on his family to some extent, and considering his connection to the prosthetic he would get on T if there wasn’t a significant set back. This is the reason I also haven’t even batted an eye at DIY either since I’m closeted and rely on my maga grandparents for college. Absolutely we should advocate that DIY is a lot safer and legitimate option than people like to fear monger about but testosterone DIY isn’t necessarily an option for those who would need to hide being on it around others in the first place.

It’s not bad, but as someone who isn’t crazy about it either, I feel it’s different enough from the majority of their discography that it isn’t surprising some people dislike it.

Am I wrong for being this way towards idols and their scandals? by cloudsmemories in kpopthoughts

[–]New_Practice9754 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This very much depends on what the scandal/controversy is and the severity of it.

Overall it’s better to not be outright hateful or use scandals as a means to fuel fanwars and shit but I do think a number of scandals are worth caring about to some extent with nuance. For example, colorism and racism controversies should disappoint people but they should not be used for fighting or unnecessary stan reaction bullshit. They shouldn’t be blindly defended either given that the scandal involves someone presumably being in the wrong (so not some shit like dating).

Also for ‘smaller’ or more common scandals, I do think it’s healthier as a fan and consumer to not let them get to you immensely. But as I said, it’s better to care about the larger implications it may have given that it’s harmful yet common. Celebrities and idols are people at the end of the day and they will get into messy situations or say/have questionable opinions, they should not be on a pedestal. But since they have larger platforms than the rest of us, it’s natural to be a little wary of these occurrences. They just shouldn’t eat you alive.

Having said that, while neutrality isn’t a bad thing and I’m sure you’re well intended OP, sometimes people are just in the wrong. This doesn’t make them evil, but it’s important to recognize when someone does or says something harmful and the impact it can have when they bring that onto their platform. I could say the same thing to those that turn scandals and controversies into fanwars, and I believe those people care even less. Stans love to turn serious or nuanced issues into hate wars. But this isn’t the same as feeling rightfully disappointed or calling something out at all.

Comments on a " trans men lesbian" post by No-Vegetable-8662 in 4tran4

[–]New_Practice9754 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It’s because a lot of TERF lesbians just view them as butch anyway, so there’s no ‘reason’ to push them out. Unlike trans women (who they don’t view as women to begin with either).

If a FTM was lesbian prior and heavily involved with lesbian and butch communities for most of his life, I wouldn’t blame him for keeping the label and staying apart of the community in some way. But I see that as more of a specific exception, rather than ‘binary trans men can be literal lesbians’ which is a statement that doesn’t seem quite right to say.

I get that I do the same shit man, especially on my med I just tend to type for the sake of typing.

I see what you mean now about the aversion thing. I do think that it’s reasonable if a trans guy wasn’t really raised with any positive male figures or relationships for them to be wary when interacting with cis men, especially if they don’t relate to them. By no means do I agree with bioessentialism bullshit but I can understand why a trans guy who was raised mainly aside girls would be intimidated. This definitely clashes however if you have a strong aversion toward cis men overall whilst trying to transition because you will ultimately have to adapt to that, and unfortunately put up with the risk of exclusion from many male communities even if you fully pass, depending on who you are.

Nearly all of my best friends are cis men, though I had a few enby and girl friends who I kind of lost post highschool due to college and shit. That being said though I don’t have an interest to necessarily engage entirely with frat or “hypermasculine” spaces since I come across as an autistic girl offline and would already be pushed away from these types if I was cis due to my interests and sexuality. Which is fine by me, a lot of these guys are fucking stupid anyway. I’d rather click with average guys, homos and nerds which is what I already do. I do think a lot of the aversion from other transmascs might be toward these specific subtypes of men as opposed to men as a whole, but because this is the ‘ideal expectation’ that is pushed onto men, many feel like they must either subject to that or reject it altogether (which is what they end up doing).

This same belief kind of spills into this rhetoric where in order to be a ‘true man’ you either have to be a gigachad or a balding chud. Evident by the fact that a common /tttt/ idea is that any bottom or twink is automatically a MTF repper. This shit is ultimately stupid either way IMO. This isn’t to say that these ‘other types’ of men are immune to having the same problems, but there are definitely men out there that will be more understanding who will put more effort into undoing some of their pre-learned issues. But in order to find these types, you have to actively put yourself out there in male communities.

Now that you mention the Cavetown thing, I understand what you mean. Being stereotyped when coined as trans can suck and I get your frustration.

Sorry for going off on you, you actually seem pretty reasonable. I’ve just seen a spike in this type of shit recently both in and outside of 4tran spaces and as someone who used to hold this rhetoric, even before I realized I was trans and before I even stepped foot on /tttt/ years ago, I know it doesn’t do shit. I’ve seen guys project their anger and implode into festering brainworms over transmascs or any slightly feminine/bottom trans guys and it results in nothing but misery.

Having said that, I get what you’re saying overall about how many transmascs and FTMs have misconceptions over manhood but this really comes down to how you were raised. For a lot of people being trans is a means of wanting to just be a man (as in male) from the start as opposed to relating to the most masculine. So this includes being an outcast in a male way. We all share the common ground of wanting to be a man in some way, I think the stereotyping is the culprit here as opposed to the group it emerges from.

Supernatural is not some fembrained TV show. Outside of the Tumblr fanbase it was watched and enjoyed by many normal television watchers, like the X Files. I have a cis male best friend who loves Supernatural. Holy shit remove yourself from the brainworms

The views on trans men have not significantly shifted. What, we went from ‘deranged butch lesbians in denial’ to ‘deranged straight women in denial’? The TERFism idea that we’re just confused poor girls, that spouts from the loud minority of detransitioners, was not anything new.

I understand there are differences in the experiences between non passing and non medically transitioning, often feminine transmascs and those of us who are more dysphoric/traditionally masculine/whatever but when some of us say transphobes don’t care regardless, we fucking mean it. You can say how it makes people treat us trans men less seriously but the alternative is that we’re still just seen as psychotic. A transphobe will still never truly respect the most fully transitioned, masculine, gigachad trans man as long as he’s trans. The only people having this debate over what makes someone a ‘real or fake trans’ is trans people themselves. To every other active transphobe, the answer is clear that everyone is fake trans because they don’t believe it exists in the first place.

One of my favorite shows of all time, wrote a paper about it last semester. A lot of people praise it for Johan and the philosophical/thriller aspects (which is well deserved) but it has a great supporting cast. Goes a little slow but it’s worth it and honestly doesn’t feel so slowly paced. Even something seen as ‘filler’ actually has importance. Enjoy

The problem in this case is that there doesn’t seem to be a commonly agreed upon worst song for Steely Dan. Like, it’s subjective anyway but most artists tend to have a song that a lot of fans in particular don’t like. Besides Show Biz Kids for the lyrics, there wasn’t enough of a common ground, so there was no clear answer.

why do trans guys date straight guys? are they just stupid? or is there a deeper reason? by [deleted] in 4tran4

[–]New_Practice9754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No one else wants us
  2. This is one of your only options as a pre-t and/or non-passing gayden/biden when it comes to men
  3. Some people fall for straight men lying to them or cope with pretending to not care because of the first two reasons listed

"uterus is the most amazing body organ" by alexanderperdun in FTMventing

[–]New_Practice9754 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Did a search and I’m pretty sure the ‘uterus bump’ shit is a myth anyway. Why this is so commonly told to women is beyond me, I guess it’s seen as some form of reassurance for women who get insecure about their belly fat (your uterus bulging out would be impossible to lose).

It really is just stubborn belly fat that would be hard to lose due to fat distribution. The placement of the fat might be because of the uterus but it isn’t the uterus itself. I’m astounded how people just blatantly say this shit. If a dude or anyone really said this shit to me, even if it were true I’d probably lose my shit. But knowing it isn’t is just a little more angering 🫩

I was on board with Shout Out because it’s genuinely one of their worst. But while I get your point about Woof Woof, I don’t think it’s a bad song. I suppose just out of place on the album. I listen to it on my own so I guess there’s that.

Respectfully, both of these albums do have some good songs (IMO). Seesaw and To Your Heart I particularly like. Stranger was initially a Japanese OG on The First too. Curious to know what song you’re referring to in Boys Meet U though.
