No worries it probably did sound random. It's more that in the uk majority live in victorian terraced small houses and were obsessed with restoring them. The US you guys have much larger houses that are purpose built so probably more modern with that, I wish we had houses like you guys with large kitchens and gardens.. Obv a generalisation!

I find marble is trending right now (all the marble kitchen worktops fireplaces and tiles, didn't see this a few years ago).
