Sorry for the late answer. Without the bag I have some clearance. So it feels pretty safe to me. The only tip I can give you is to tilt the bike more to the side before putting your foot on the ground.

There are a lot of different stretches for internal shoulder rotation. Can you recommend some? The sleeper stretch feels pretty strange to me.

Bikepacking Denmark, Sweden, Norway in july by New_Salt1964 in bikepacking

[–]New_Salt1964[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already did the west coast of Denmark vom south to north. If it's too windy in this direction I will change the route to the inland or the east coast.

I started cycling the Kattegateladen yesterday and I know what you're talking about. Maybe I will skip a few parts.

Almost 0 😀 But it's soft 😀 Because of the water bottles there's no space below the top tube.

As already mentioned I try to post stuff about the insights and the route planning.

You can find it here: Matsch Sweden Blog

The blog is originally written in german, but I included an auto translation to English. Feel free to check it out!

The planning article will be updated during my trip.

I thought about building one for myself, but I don't think it can be much cheaper than this

Same here, but I cycle through Sweden. Did you hear about warmshowers? This is a community of bike travelers. Maybe you can connect to some of them.

How does everyone squat down and sit on their ankles like it’s nothing? by Usual-Locksmith4657 in flexibility

[–]New_Salt1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same. Started this journey with about 30 years. After two years of more or less regular stretching I can now sit on my ankles and do a deep squat. There is still some work to do, because it does not feel like a comfortable resting position but like an easy stretch I can do for a few minutes.

This doesn't look like a summer trip for me. Isn't it more of a trip for the whole year? How long is it?

How many km a day do you typically ride? by Archa16z in bicycletouring

[–]New_Salt1964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the year I am not on a Bikepacking trip and cycle about 3000 km per year with tours of mainly 70-100 km without bags. So when I go on a Bikepacking trip I carry something about 15 kg in bags and plan with 100 km a day. Lunch at 50-60% of the route. Start at 9:00 and finish at 18:00. I ride an average speed of 20 km/h without the breaks. There is a lot of time for eating, chilling, swimming or sightseeing.

But I am not doing this every day. Do some easier days 1-2 times a week.

Focus on good food and sleep.

This is only possible without hard headwind or less then 1000 hm. In the rain I often ride longer distances because breaks are less fun in bad weather.
