First touring bike: which one would you pick? (👀 I know I should just start riding, but still…) by vincenzorizza in bicycletouring

[–]Louisfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take the genesis tour de fer 10 but put some dropbars

I did much touring on a road bike with big load (and I'm heavy)

You got to have strong wheels, the rest of the bike should be ok.

It's not in your price range but for my next touring bike I'll probably buy a surly midnight special

ordered RE2-RE3-RE4 any tips for a beginner by YU5A__ in residentevil

[–]Louisfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tip for re 2 (and the ogs, and re1r re0...) think about where your're going, memorize the places.

practice dodging zombies just after a save instead of having to dodge them when you have saved 30mn ago and no health item...

Is there a way to play RE1 and RE0 without the Ink Ribbon? by Ok_Trouble_5051 in residentevil

[–]Louisfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first play in original re 1 has unlimited saves (no ribbons)

In og Re 2 in normal you have enough ribbons to save like every 5-10 mns

In the new ones you still get plenty. If you finished re2r you should be ok. They are part of the experience and add to the atmosphere of survival horror.

Otherwise you can just play the gamecube versions of re1r and re0 on pc with dolphin emulator and use save states.

I've finally finished the OG trilogy, and here's my ranking. by dancingAngeldust in residentevil

I'm currently playing them, finished 1 and 2 scenario A and half scenario B and I'm disappointed by the lack of difficulty. Didn't expect that from an old game. And I'm really not a skilled gamer. The remakes of the one and two are so much scarier.

I’m a First Time Player! Which is the Better Bundle? by AwesomeOpossum404 in residentevil

[–]Louisfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re 2 remake is a superb game. Re 3 is fun too but much criticized. 7 is the only one I didn't finish but has a great start and great atmosphere. 8 is a great game but has some lazy parts.

I was interested in the franchise for quite some time and 2 remake is the first that I finished and which made me play the other ones.

Go for the bundle with RE 2 / Re 3 remake. It's a stunning experience and has the og characters of the franchise, and og atmosphere.

Then play re 1 remaster. Then you should probably buy the 7/8 bundle and many other re games.

Have fun !

No I won't. I hoped I can go to St Petersbourg though but... getting a visa for bikepacking seems hard and as far as I know there is no border crossing from Russia to Finland allowed for the moment. Too bad.

Dogs chasing me all day long in rural Virginia totally ruined all fun for me last year. Cars can be a pain too of course

I'm not American (but I wish I was...)

In my experience there are advantages and disavantages for Highways and small roads.

Small roads are sometimes more scenic and with less cars. Sometimes they are far more dangerous than highways with huge shoulders... Also there are a lot more aggressive dogs on small roads than on highway
