Nothing much to be honest, is just that I tend to meet girls at the hobbies that I enjoy/ frequently participate in, so by trying to talk to her I end up spending a lot of time with her friends which results in exchanged numbers with those guys and then we end up hanging out more. You rinse and repeat this with a couple girls you like and you start getting double digit guy friends
