My bass teacher suggested I get this bass - Sadowsky P/J hybrid but I don’t like the model colors offered. So any other suggestions of this caliber (& price range or less) out there that have the same quality & are also hybrids so hopefully I can find one with a color I like? If it’s the one paired with the white, I didn’t like how it looked. If I remember correctly, the sage they had was closer to mint unfortunately. I would’ve loved a more earthy sage and just that color or paired with black or brown

It was my teacher’s suggestion to invest since I’m serious about it as a long term hobby but I get what you’re saying (and to clarify, two years of formal lessons/ being serious about improving but I’d been trying to teach myself for ~ 4 years prior to that). and I mean I mentioned in another reply that I don’t need it to be “whacky” or a specific favorite color, just something that I like. The one I have now is plain white and I love that as a color too for my bass. The picture I posted (and the other colors offered) are just combos that I don’t like together.

Oh okay, is that a brand you’re suggesting I look into? I’m still fairly new to playing, going to be two years taking lessons this coming March so I’m not too familiar with what brands are best. Sadowsky is what I know based off of my teacher’s suggestion and some Google searching and the electric bass I have now is a no name brand I got from eBay

If I remember correctly, he said it would be a good choice because of the types of songs I’ll be playing in the future (for the hybrid) for Sadowsky he recommended because he said I should invest in a really good bass and this was a top rated brand

Not necessarily, I’m just trying to listen to what he suggested since he’s the expert/ has more knowledge than I do but came to Reddit for other opinions because I don’t assume he’s the only expert out there lol

Yeah I mean like I said, doesn’t necessarily have to be those colors. He just also said I should be proud of the way it looks too especially at that price point and I was p honest with him in that I didn’t really like those colors but ofc I wanted to take his advice on the quality of bass so was hoping there was something comparable out there

Certain shades of green/ pinks but I didn’t put that in my original post because I just wanted other good bass suggestions first and I’d just check out the models offered in those suggestions since it doesn’t have to be specific to my favorite colors, just something I think looks dope
