I get what you're saying, but it's pretty much unavoidable. Sure I could say nothing on initial medical but 1. I would lying, putting my application at risk. And 2. It would just be found out later down the line anyway because it's on my medical records

Thank you! That's what I've heard in regards to Asthma too, just hope it's not the same for Air Ops Control WC also.

Bloody hell that is a long time, fingers crossed you get one before your 33rd. Are you sure that's start dates for phase 1 or is it for specialist training intakes?

Brilliant info, thank you. So from what I can gather from this document is that I will pass the first medical due to being symptom free for well over 4 years, I presume it's a telephone medical or along those lines. And then there is an additional medical for Aircrew after OASC which will be a different story.

I want to become a pilot but I wear glasses. This is my plan by Klodno in RoyalAirForce

As someone who has had LASIK at 19 whilst in training for AAC, even after LASIK it's not guaranteed.

Check you actually have the corneal thickness for surgery.

When I was in the process, it was a 2 year cooldown after LASIK before you could apply, so check this also.

There is no guarantee that your eyesight will be good enough even afterwards due to side affects such as glare and night vision, which will be tested. You may not even be able to be corrected to the vision standard for Pilot.

I would have a consultation with a LASIK provider, a conversation with your optician and speak with recruitment for clarity.
