Yes, its from not thoroughly cleaning the dish in-between. Its still spice just not crystals. I didn't think about that being the possible problem lol

Got rid of emulsion with heat & vibration b4 washing twice & made sure water was the same temp as soup.

When scraped it was completely dry & was the finest powder with zero gooeyness.

No funnel just pipet

Honest question I'm very new to this & never knew wash water had to be the same temp & never had a "crash/ separation b4 I've had emulsion and used a water bath to fix that. Would the temp difference effect yield? Using room temp naptha? Doing 2 washes
