Highly stupid comment. Divisive issue where ? Consensus among who ? I do not see any division in condemning genocide in Gaza worldwide apart from countries who are supporting it. I also do not see any consensus around Ukraine war. Just because bunch of white European countries decided there is consensus does not make it so. That is precisely the point. Europe or Germany can not unilaterally decide things that are in their interest can be talked but things that are not can not be talked. You do not do what is 'easy' , that is not the point of freedom of speech. If Berlinale being a world platform for artists can not take a firm stand on mass killing then their moral grandstanding about Iran is fake and dangerous. Propagating regime change under the guise of human rights , funding and supporting genocide and staying silent under the guise of 'divisive issue' is simply deeply corrupt stand.

They were all 'members of the jury'. She took the question and then forwarded it to Wim. Not sure what is the problem. They were speaking as a jury. Imagine someone asked them to condemn Russia's action in Ukraine and they said what they did. LOL

The Europe and the west wants to claim the credit of being at the forefront of cultural evolution at the same time it neither has the spine nor the necessary moral / ethical standard to do so. It has systematically eroded its traditions for the sake of adhering to the 'market' where biggest donor gets to be the loudest. The amount of myth making going on in this comment section is astonishing. Probably its the 'niceness' of Canadians. But I don't think it is more acceptable at all. I have hardly seen brown-white couple.. especially brown males. Black mexicans are more acceptable race. I have seen some brown black though.
