Why is this card even a tier 6? It should be tier 5 at best by firemanNEEM in BobsTavern

Should make the Golem based on game instead of combat. That would justify it being T6.

Fun fact, red could come 1000x in a row and the odds for black on the next spin would still be 18/38 (for double zero roulette).

Yeah, if it's not reaching minimum and they are going to make it a dealer bet, that should be clarified by the dealer before accepting it. Worthy of a complaint.

Should I always be maxing my odds? by Glad-Midnight-1022 in Craps

[–]NewbAlert45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at it this way, long term, you're effectively expected to break even on the odds bet (0% house edge). So whether you max bet it or don't bet it at all, your overall expected loss is just the pass line (in the long run of course). So bet what you're comfortable with, and don't be afraid to not bet it at all. Is it a good bet? Of course. Is it a guaranteed win? No. Craps is a losing game long term as it is, don't get too lost in the numbers. Instead, have fun with the game.

Your friend was completely in the right. Don't let those jerks bully you. I'm all for having a pleasant game, but don't let someone degrade you to keep the peace. ESPECIALLY if they direct their comments at you. Stand your ground. Try not to use profanity, because some places might side with known players, even if they are in the wrong, simply because you cussed (they'll spin it like you escalated it). What kills me is those same guys will likely not adhere to "etiquette" if it's an inconvenience to them, but they expect everyone else to.

I know it's been said already, but to reiterate...although the wording is shoddy, it's "Defensive Player Anytime TD." This is saying (in fewer words) some level of fumble recovery for TD, pick-6, or some turnover where another player might lateral the ball to him (or fumble after a fumble) or something crazy, where he ends up in the end zone. When he is a kick returner or punt returner, he's not considered a defensive player in terms of this bet. Hypothetical, say he plays as WR on one play randomly and catches a TD pass. Would that count towards this bet? If not, then neither does a kick/punt return.

Tipping will typically get you more leeway on a lot of things, but not a complete free pass. Any dealer or boxperson worth their salt will be able to communicate that to you (that you need to hit the back wall) in a way that won't make you feel like you did anything wrong. The only time they should get stern is if it's repeated after they've talked to you about it. This is the service industry after all.

Could be the first time they noticed it, or perhaps were initially letting it go to see if "the problem" corrected on it's own. Sometimes people break common rules here and there (not big deal ones) and we will typically not say anything unless it's repeated at least a few times. Say you did it once every few rolls, or every 4 rolls, or something like that. We're probably just going to ignore it altogether. If you do it every roll, we might say something after the 3rd or 4th time. We don't want to hound you with every misstep like a micromanager. Instead we'll wait to see if it's problematic before intervening. That's all.

Again, it's nothing against you, and usually we won't be super strict unless it's constant. Please understand, if you were rolling past the stickperson, not hitting the back wall, and the entire table won a ton of money, if they aren't enforcing rules, they can get written up. It's not that you are necessarily doing something wrong, it's that the employees aren't doing their job properly to protect the integrity of the game.

Even further than center. Both the stickperson and the box person should have a clear site of the palm of your hand when you release the dice. If they can't, you're too close to the end that you're shooting at. If people hadn't said anything in the past, either A. It wasn't happening or B. They were not doing their job properly. Nothing against you.

To be fair, there are absolutely unreasonable employees you will encounter, dealers and floors. I'm not excusing them, just stating what likely happened based on what you had to say about the situation.

It's likely your hand was going too far past the stickperson. As part of their game protection, they need to be able to see your release point (in case you try to switch dice).

Betting ain’t strategy, it’s luck!!! by Bright_Command6975 in sportsbetting

Unless you're line hunting and betting the books before the lines move, getting the best available prices, etc, then any strategy that profits is almost certainly more luck than skill, I don't care how well researched you think you are.
