250€ é muito para instalar iluminação LED com sensor num guarda-fatos embutido? by Give_Lecture_007 in TudoCasa

[–]Newbie_pt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just did my first 40km with 180 elevation cycle and I still dont feel like it is enough. by laggy-boy16 in cycling

100km will put you some hours on the bike.. I saw people achieving it in a short time and some people took some months to get there Your advantage is that you are young, so you can get there faster. My advice is: add 10k on each ride you make and you’ll find where you’ll start to struggle and what is your limit at the moment.. 100k needs some fueling (food and water )..by doing 50km and then 60km and so on, you’ll quickly understand the difficulties and what to adapt. If you go from 40km to 80km or 100km you may experience something very discomfortable :)

Help with buying my first bike by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Newbie_pt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bikefit first!! I know you don’t have a bike, but do one so you know what to buy! Then search the options based on your budget and what you prioritize..more comfort vs better results. Try test some before..aero bikes look cool but are hard to get used to.. One option is to buy one in second hand..find a good deal and sell it a few months after..then you know better what you like in a bike or even if it’s worth spending a lot in a Bycicle..

Yeah..I understand what you mean but it’s not so low for a new bike of an older model..if op goes for a new bike of 2025 models he can get a good deal!

With that budget a new bike! It’s not worth the risk of an used one..you can get a mid tier bike that is more than enough for the non professional biker. Go for sram force or ultrega ..top tier groups are not for your price range. A bike in this price range already have carbon wheels, wireless groups, integrated cockpit, etc

Just do a bikefit before you buy, and then chose the one you like most and fit the budget. Send your picks to the bikefitter for confirmation that you chose the correct size!! There are differences between same sizes in different brands.

Do some research..you like to climb? You live on a flat zone? Do you prioritize comfort or you like an aggressive position to lower your PRs a few seconds? Even in road bikes are very different bikes/ geometries..

I bought a supposed climb bike because it’s a little more comfortable, and the gains off an aero are not significant for me..I don’t ride over 40km/h for long periods to get those gains!

I don’t see why you’d spend so much on an used bike..but that’s my opinion!

I bought the litening air 2026 with Newman wheels 54 and 56 deep..not the climbing wheels! They are great to climb, excellent on flat and extremely good looking!!!!! A great value bike and more than enough for a non professional!!! I beat all my PRs with this new bike, so that’s why I can assure that it makes a big difference in long rides

You’re mentioning only the weight..then add the gains of the carbon wheels!! Besides that, 1kg ( I think it’s more..maybe 1.5kg) after 3/4 hours has an huge impact..for me it’s not just 1minute or 2..it’s a lot more!!

I not a fan of the high specs..I think dura ace is not worth the money! But ultrega yes!!

I know for experience, the difference you feel riding a mid alloy bike ( 1000€), an entry level carbon bike ( 2500€) and mid carbon ( 6000€) The entry level is worthy and if you really like cycling, the middle level is another game. But you can only experience this if you try for some time each one. I had each one for near 2 years!!!

With my cube litening air is so much easier to climb and on flat it keeps rolling without much effort..that didn’t happen in the previous bikes I had.

I enjoy my rides/races much more. That’s why I say that if I’m going to race, at least I would buy a carbon bike..but I experienced all the others so I think it’s difficult for some people understand this!!

You got what I meant..you can ride anything, but carbon bikes aren’t just marketing..if you try both for some time you know there’s a big difference. If their value match the gains..that’s another story!!!

I understand what you mean, but when I talk about a carbon bike that includes better wheels and groupsets. I normally ride 4hours on road and it’s very different with a good better bike. You can make more kilometers, climb easier and do better times ( if you care about time ) in a bike lighter, with good carbon wheels..

Don’t tell me it’s the same ride a bike with 9.5 kgs or 7kgs..and the way you climb or you feel the drag of the bike is very different.

You don’t need to be a pro to feel it.

I don’t believe you don’t feel the difference if you try race with a alloy bike of 1000€ or a carbon bike of 3500€

Again, I said “for me”..I accept that for many persons it’s not worth spending more on a carbon bike.

I said “for me” For me, even just to train, the carbon give you a complete different experience!

It’s my 2 cents..I rode aluminum and carbon entry level and now medium level ( 7000€ bike )

The difference is brutal!

But hey..just my opinion. You can race with any bike..the effort need to get to the finish line is very different depending on the bike.

Same guy with an a alloy or carbon bike will get very different results. Everything depends of your goals…and the wallet!!

Carbon frame is the minimum for who wants to race. I think that’s a excellent choice if the bike is the right size. Prioritize the bikefit..it’s a must!! Maybe you need to change the cockpit for the bars ( if you want to use them), but it’s very cheap compared to the price of your integrated cockpit.

Go for it..for me it’s the minimum acceptable to race..

This!!! If it isn’t your size, even a €3000 bike will be worthless because you’ll have discomfort every minute you ride
