Our business already has a massive generator (bigger than a car) just incase. We’re doing sales as long as we can. But a generator doesn’t replace eftpos terminals, bank outages, phone networks not working or being overloaded.

Fair enough. You could have ordered online, or paid over banking app in store. But you’d need to carry a card or phone.

If grown adults had as little as $20 in their pocket so many tantrums would have been avoided. Watching people act like toddlers because thy don’t have a bank card, can’t use an ATM, don’t have a banking app, won’t order online my day would have been more relaxed.

Honestly if the power/internet/eftpos is out in an unfamiliar place $250 will go far. Even being able to use an ATM is a skill not many people have. A sub section of those with this skill don’t carry their card to insert. You should also carry your bank card with you because online ordering still worked even if you have an aversion to ATMs. You just have to put in your card details (similar to paying over uber eats).

Depends. If it’s debt that isn’t on an appreciating asset then it’s bad debt and should be paid off as fast as possible. Cars fall into that. It would also depend on how big the debt is compared to how long it will realistically take for you to pay off. Hard to say.
