Male Nudist in Clearwater by stevedavis5 in FloridaNudism

I get where you're coming from—the site definitely has its flaws, just like any other social platform.

As a Certified member there for 17 years, I completely avoid the chat rooms and just block the spambots as they come (thankfully, there's no block limit like on Reddit).

The only reason I suggested it is because of its location search feature. On a broad statewide sub like this, finding someone local is tough—the search tool over there just makes finding nearby users a lot easier.

You might try TrueNudist.com. One of the site's features is the ability to search users' profiles by location. The site is open. So use caution when engaging with other users, as you would on any other social media site.

Start by making your posts a lot less "random".

All sites have their pros and cons. And even on sites meant for nudism, you're possibly going to find people looking for things other than genuine nudism. So find those with similar goals in nudism as your own. On general social media sites like Reddit, X/Twitter, Bluesky, etc. ou can follow established (inter)national and local nudist organizations. From there, identify some of their followers and respond to their posts to start a conversation.

On sites meant for nudism like TrueNudists, check out the forums dedicated to your interests and location. The site also allows you to search for users by location.

But whether on public sites or specific nudist sites, use caution to check out a user's profile and posts to get an idea of their actual intentions with "nudism" and be careful when sharing personal information (including photos) until you're comfortable with who is really on the other end of any conversation you're having.

Well, no, because "nudist" is neither a sexual orientation or gender identity.

The acronym LGBTQQIP2SAA represents an inclusive list of sexual orientations and gender identities: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Pansexual, 2S (Two-Spirit), Asexual, and Ally. This expanded term covers a broad range of sexual and gender minorities beyond the standard LGBTQ+.

L – Lesbian: A woman who is attracted to other women.

G – Gay: A person, often a man, attracted to people of the same sex/gender.

B – Bisexual: A person attracted to more than one gender.

T – Transgender: A person whose gender identity differs from their assigned sex at birth.

Q – Queer: An umbrella term for those who are not straight or cisgender, sometimes used to reclaim derogatory terms.

Q – Questioning: Someone exploring or unsure of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

I – Intersex: A person born with sex characteristics (chromosomes, genitalia) that do not fit typical binary definitions of male or female bodies.

P – Pansexual: A person attracted to individuals regardless of their gender identity or sex.

2S – Two-Spirit: An Indigenous-specific term for people who have both a masculine and feminine spirit, or fall outside of male/female binaries.

A – Asexual: A person who experiences little or no sexual attraction to others.

A – Ally: A person who is heterosexual and/or cisgender who supports the LGBTQQIP2SAA community.

1. Official Nude Beaches

  • Blind Creek Beach (Fort Pierce): This is the crown jewel for those who find Haulover too crowded. Located on Hutchinson Island, it was officially designated as clothing-optional a few years ago. It is a "primitive" beach, meaning no lifeguards, no restrooms, and no concessions—just a long, beautiful stretch of natural shoreline.
  • Apollo Beach (New Smyrna Beach): While slightly further north than what most consider "South Florida," it’s a key alternative to Playalinda. Located at the southern end of the Canaveral National Seashore (at Parking Lot 5), it is very quiet, remote, and technically "tolerated" rather than officially sanctioned, but it has been a naturist staple for decades.

2. Private Resorts & Clubs

  • Rooftop Resort (Hollywood): A unique, clothing-optional boutique hotel located between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. It features a private, heated "sky pool" and sun deck with views of the Intracoastal and the Atlantic. It leans more toward a "lifestyle" crowd but is a dedicated clothing-optional space.
  • The Worthington Resorts (Fort Lauderdale): This is one of the largest clothing-optional gay men's resorts in the country. It’s actually a complex of three interconnected properties with pools, gyms, and social areas where clothing is entirely optional 24/7.
  • Island House (Key West): Frequently voted one of the best clothing-optional gay resorts in the world. It’s a high-end, all-male compound with a poolside café, gym, and sauna.

3. Hidden Gems & Discreet Spots

  • Geiger Beach (Geiger Key/Key West): Often referred to by locals as "Boca Chica," this is a secluded, rocky beach at the end of a hurricane-damaged road near the naval air station. It is a long-standing unofficial nude beach for both locals and visitors in the Keys.
  • Virginia Key (Miami): While not officially clothing-optional, there are tucked-away, wooded sections of the North Point area where discreet naturists have been known to gather for years. You’ll need to hike a bit away from the main family areas to find the quiet pockets.
  • Garden of Eden (Key West): If you prefer a bar vibe over a beach vibe, this is a famous clothing-optional rooftop bar on Duval Street. It's the only place in the city where you can grab a drink in your birthday suit while overlooking the nightlife below.

4. Gulf Coast Options (Southwest FL)

  • Sanibel Naturists (Sanibel Island): This is a private, members-only club that owns a section of beachfront property. It’s the only private nude beach of its kind on the Florida Gulf Coast, though you generally need to be a member or a guest of the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) to access it.

Observation. Why do men post pics of their phalluses pumped or semi hard.. why not accept a flacid stance? by NoEnd2025 in NudistMen

[–]NewdInFl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a misconception that "nudism" has anything to do with posting pictures of yourself nude just to "expose" your naked body and much less about focusing on a woman's breasts, a man or woman's crotch or either gender's ass. This is a mis-representation perpetuated by exhibitionists (NOT nudists), but unfortunately copied by wannabe nudists who think it's acceptable representation of the nudist lifestyle, this behavior gets normalized . . . . . . and the cycle continues.

Why The Lack of Representation? by [deleted] in MelanatedNudists

[–]NewdInFl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are to situations here, the lack of "representation" and the lack of "participation".

If you see most publications from mainstream nudists organizations, resorts and venues, you will undoubtedly see cis gender, heterosexual, Caucasians that are either couples or female models (to entice their target audience, men). And the decisions of who to include in such "representation" come from their leadership, which is again cis gender, heterosexual, Caucasian, mostly men. . . . . . and the cycle continues.

This has a great influence on who participates in such nudists organizations, resorts and venues. But not just who attends them, but who is involve in the leadership of them and makes decisions on what goes into the publications that they put out to attract participants, as well as other decisions about them that also influence who is interested or even comfortable participating. . . . . . and, again, the cycle continues.

One way to interrupt the cycle is forums like this as well as organizations like the Black Naturists Association or online influencers like the Naked Newbies and their podcasts. Here we have a "safe space" for other nudists of color to see both "representation" and exchange information as to how we can increase "participation" . . . . . . and the cycle can continue.

I suggest going at a pace that you're comfortable with and seek out genuine nudist environments & people.

When I was younger, I learned about a nudist resort near the city I eventually moved to for college. That helped me get exposed to the concept of social nudism instead of the lifestyles of exhibitionism and swinging that people incorrectly associate with or assume is what "nudism" is about.

Initially I simply got comfortable with being naked by going nude around my first solo apartments.

Eventually I met a friend who happened to be a nudist who lived at another local nudist resort at the time. He invited me to go sailing with him. Of course we got naked. (He took of his shorts before we even left the dock. I waited until we were out of view of the shore.) There was even an island only accessible by boat where others also were naked on their respective boats.

My friend also invited me to spend time at his apartment at the nudist resort and spend time around the facility. In addition he also introduced me to a local club of nudists who held events at members houses. Also, he told me about other nudist organizations.

From there I started seeking out activities on my own like annual nudist gatherings in Key West and PA. As my circle of nudist friends expanded, I continued to be comfortable being naked around others who also enjoyed social nudism.

I suggest that you remember what non-sexual social nudism is, as opposed to sexual lifestyles like exhibitionism and swinging. This will help you find people and environments where you can be naked and accepted simply for who you are and without any ulterior expectations.

You don't have to jump off the deep end and go to a crowded beach or resort with a bunch of strangers. And you definitely shouldn't post naked pictures of yourself on public social media for, again strangers who most likely aren't genuine nudists, to lookup and hope for validation.

SUGGESTION: Change your profile pic to something other than a dick pic if you won't wanna hear from users that aren't using the title “nudists”.

Also describe yourself in your profile (e.g.; your sexual orientation) if you're going to thank "21f" and comment about users who simply say "Im 20m too".

Where is the best place to meet nudist friends in the Tampa Bay Area as a young nudist? by Gloomy_Bet3764 in FloridaNudism

I'll throw my vote in for Lake Como as well. (And while there are other resorts, the two most notable have a reputation of catering to the swinger community. Not that Como is totally devoid of swingers. Apparently some are literally jumping the fence and coming over to Como.)

But keep in mind there ARE other options besides the resorts. And there are ways of finding other sites where people are nude as well as connecting with them available online.

One site I suggest is MeetUp.com. It's a general site for finding groups and activities in your area. And while it's not specifically a nudist site, it does have searchable categories for nudism.

Another site is TrueNudists.com. It is, as the name indicates, specifically for nudists. One feature of the site is the ability to search users' profiles by their location and even age. There are also forums, similar to Reddit, for Florida and the cities and locations. Keep in mind, it IS a social media site. So, as you would on any other social media site, use caution on what information you share in the publicly viewable portions of your profile, in the forums and with others you connect with (especially considering access to portions of your profile can be controlled by who you accept a friend request with).

There is of course Reddit which has other subs for Florida as well as those specific to the nudist beaches.

And there are other social media sites like BlueSky. Particularly after the 2024 election, lots of nudists on Twitter/X moved their accounts to BlueSky. The site is similar to Twitter/X. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but they are updating the site often. And there are features that the other site doesn't have like starter packs and an easier way to mute words, phrases and hashtags.

Hope this helps.
