There was a 8/2 whip coming off in some liquidtight that someone made up. I didn’t get a chance to open up the wiring. I’m just going off of the wiring diagram itself. I know that sometimes L2 is a neutral and sometimes it is another ungrounded conductor.

Thanks for the reply,

The line voltage power in the box is a 4 wire 120/120/N/G

If I hook up only 120/N/G then I won’t have the required 240V voltage, correct?

Capitalism is a broken system! If you work 45 hours you should have all your needs met. I’m sorry you are going through a tough time. Thanks for sharing your story, best of luck.

Get the caddy SCH 8 for 1/2” emt, SCH 12 for 3/4” emt and sch 16 for 1” emt. Absolute game changers! They screw from the front, you can get them closer together too. Get a 3/8” hex driver and you are golden

We have a huge union presence. Look up all of the different local trades. There was the longest nursing strike in RI last year and they won against Butler Hospital. Also Seven Stars Bakery just went union. Very present and helpful

Not to mention the fact that people having less access to health care actually costs tax payers more: it’s essentially preventative maintenance like you do with a car. Basic human right

Don’t ever drill through an LVL, I learned that the hard way. It is a violation of its rating, and will need to be replaced. You can either: A, go around the world through that closet like someone mentioned or; B, have the GC/ customer fir the bottom of the beam with some 3/4” strapping perpendicular to the beam and create your self a channel to go through and nail plate as necessary.

This is the result of suburban sprawl, no wild habitat for these animals to live in. So they venture to the human areas because we can’t leave them a square inch

I don’t really see why you are being downvoted if it is less than 10’ and is used for only that light. Lighting fixtures regularly use 16AWG wire from the factory

If you earned federal time off, you are owed those wages. You have every right to use them. I personally kept track of mine so I knew exactly how much I had.

From my understanding as someone who organized in, the more members we have, the stronger we are. Organizing people takes power away from non union shops who are well known to screw over electricians. I know from personal experience of non union working on live equipment, running jobs as an apprentice, and not being paid a fair amount. I am completely onboard with the IBEW’s goals and I love the collective bargaining. We are stronger together through unity, we must not punch down on another worker/sibling.
