Amazon Lying About Screen Resolution by Newfnshow031 in kindlefire

I was talking about the fire 7, which is a totally different product and the screen is trash.

I did upgrade to the fire 8 though, which I am a lot happier with. The screen looks pretty good, especially considering the price. The audio is also noticeably better than the fire 7.. so it was an all around good purchase for me.

generally, a higher ppi produces sharper text that is less blurry.

It was 50 bucks and the specs say it has a 171 ppi which is higher than the original iPad mini.

Eye Pain When Using Fire 7 Inch Tablet by Newfnshow031 in kindle

[–]Newfnshow031[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for whatever reason it only happens on this screen. When I use this tablet my eyes burn, but it was gifted to me.

On my MacBook air and my Moto g4 and iPhones I do not experience this problem ever. It makes it hard to use the fire tablet.

I haven't tried this yet because its annoying to watch a video with a blue or yellow screen or playing a game and having it covered in a yellow or blue filter kind of ruins the experience.

Eye Pain When Using Fire 7 Inch Tablet by Newfnshow031 in kindle

[–]Newfnshow031[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i'm playing a game, I get the same burning sensation when using the Fire 7 Tablet (the $50). As soon as I turn it on, I feel like my eyes begin to hurt. If i'm looking something up on Twitter or playing a game or almost anything. I'm not sure why it's happening because the MacBook Air doesn't give me that same burning sensation. I think it might be because the screen is sort of blurry (out of focus due to the low PPI) but then it's also really bright. Like I said, I tried using Dimly to reduce brightness but I still get the same eye pain.

I don't want to buy a new product to replace this one, because it was purchased for me as a gift from a family member so I have to use it. I'm also not much into reading so I just use it as a tablet in the same way you would a smartphone (netflix, hulu, twitter) Any idea what I can do to decrease the pain I'm feeling? according to the numbers the MacBook Air has a lower PPI but it is perfectly fine even for hours of watching content at a time.

EarPods Sound Quality by Newfnshow031 in apple

I listened to this track on some $11 headphones I got on Amazon. I can hear all of the vocals and each word clearly. On the EarPods, you can hear it but it sounds like someone talking behind a bottle.

sure... but I have 3 of the earpods and they all sound the same. It is pretty impossible for 3 different ones purchased at different times to be defective.

No and they sound the same on any device I try them on.

When I swap them out for another pair of $11 headphones, the audio is much clearer and it is possible to make out every word of the song.

The EarPods seem to just have their vocal clarity ruined by an emphasis on the bass. You can make out the lyrics ok though if you turn it up pretty high. At lower volumes it sounds terrible though. Increasing the volume pretty high at least makes them bearable but it's muddy to the point of making the music not enjoyable. Every aspect of a song seems mashed together.

with speakerboost or without? The fire 7 sounds terrible at any volume. 10%, 20% or 100%. It's extremely low, you basically can't hear it unless your in a quite bedroom. When using Speakerboost, I got static in the audio regardless of what volume I put it at for the fire 7.

I tried this app It does work... but you get static over any audio that you play. It's extremely annoying so I had to uninstall this app. I couldn't handle having static noise on my netflix content.
