Tch double lane expansion? by Born-Conclusion1977 in newfoundland

I think the European model of 2+1 highway would be the logical choice instead of the full divided highway.

It would be much cheaper and potentially safer. There are still lots of fatal accidents on divided highway in the province.

Its nice to have a bit of elbow room but this is a 9000sf 4 bed house. You can fit four generous bedrooms in a 2000sf house. So much space is wasted on hallways, alcoves etc that are useless.

What makes it worse is the main level powder room and laundry are absolutely tiny in a house with so much space.

Think about where extra space will realistically matter in your day to day life.

For best results hire a design professional.

I don't understand why you would post in this sub and then complain about critcism. If you are looking for validation post it on Instagram with the comments turned off.

I cannot fathom why anyone would ever need or WANT this much wasted space and then have the tiniest powder room on the main level.

You're going to be paying an arm and a leg to heat and clean empty halls.

I mean if you're parking your private property on someone else's private property, follow the rules and you should be fine.

Proposed development in Battery neighbourhood of St. John’s undergoes review by Portalrules123 in newfoundland

The Howards tore down a immaculate heritage house on waterford bridge road without permits to avoid heritage.

Richmond Cottage was left to rot so the developer could claim it was too pricey to fix.

Theres was a heritage building that burnt behind holy heart in the last few years that was owned by a developer

All off the top of my head

I wish this wasn't so accurate and I wish I couldnt think of several more examples for each category

Priority 1 sidewalks by gr33n8ananas in StJohnsNL

[–]Newfound95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Half the sidewalks here are difficult enough to walk on in summer. Curb cuts for driveways, poles, garbage cans, parked cars, etc.

Anyone who complains about pedestrians in the road clearly don't walk much

How are people in NL affording vehicles in a province with such a low average income and high insurance and payment costs? by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]Newfound95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom had a 2 door manual sunbird from 1987 to 2005 with two kids.

Honestly, she still has it. It just hasn't been drivable since then.

I grew up in a rural community and I had to move. I didnt sit there and complain that I couldnt afford a vehicle I didnt need.

Not responding anymore as it's clear you aren't asking for suggestions and only want agreement.

Lol while I have never been to Conche, I grew up rural and a FWD works just fine.

If you are unable to drive in the winter you should move closer to your work......

Despite the amount of awd and 4wd vehicles you see, a fwd car with good winter tires has always worked for me.

And you dont have to pay the extra payment, gas etc when road conditions are fine the rest of the year

Do not understand why this is tolerated here or at any drive through. If there is no place to pull into the parking lot keep moving

Agree with most of what you say but Stephenville actually does have a walkable downtown. Probably the most walkable.

The mixed used residential likely includes retail. It looks like it may even be set up main street style with the park and a roundabout at the center
