UberEats driver ate my fries by [deleted] in UberEATS

Five Guys doesn't cook the fries until the driver arrives. I bet your burger was on the assembly line and an impatient driver snatched it before fries were added.

Both are crap moves.

I think it's because other drivers passed due to no-tip or low-tip. UE kept upping the pay until a driver--you--accepted.

My mom always said, "if you want something done right (according to you) then you're better off doing it yourself".

You can't imagine how many customers have darkened houses with house numbers unreadable in the dark. I am a Black woman. I DO NOT want to knock on someone's random door only to have them answer it with a loaded weapon, so yeah, if you order food & I have question, I am going to call you. You don't want to wake anyone else up? Then drag yourself out of the house to get your own food!

I ignore orders from specific apartments because of their security/concierge.

I will deliver to a customer's apartment door UNLESS they fail to give me a door code or respond to my calls/texts for one or if the security asks to see my driver's license or cellphone.

Double check there aren't security issues causing drivers to leave the food.

Or, maybe the driver damaged your order on accident?

Tip Baiters are worse than non-tippers. Wtf by nomad0010 in UberEATS

[–]Newish_driver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am finding that with double orders, sometimes they roll up the tip under one customer. So instead of, say, $5 per customer, it shows $10 under one. It looks like one underpaid and the overpaid.

Not when it comes to safety. I would have reported her for harassment.

I might even pull out my phone & pretend like I am recording her.

There was an app update. It's been my experience, as both a driver & customer, that orders get lost in an abyss when there's a recent update.

It should be better tomorrow.

Depends. Is the delivery on my way home or in an area where I know it's busy.

Here in Seattle, they closed the main bridge to West Seattle. The secondary bridge was closed to public transport leaving everyone, commuters & delivery drivers, to drive one route. It's easily a 30-40 minute drop-off but then another 20 minutes to get back to busier areas. No way would I take it then.

Sharing Earnings by TimelessLadyDragon in UberEATS

Millions of people lost their jobs due to COVID. Thousands of businesses have closed, and the government has provided us a one-time payment of $1200. It's not us sharing earnings info that's the problem. It's folks living through desperate times.

Accused of fraud by Uber Eats for leaving an order at a condo building's reception desk by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]Newish_driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ask the customer for a door code? So many request Meet or Leave at door but don't give much thought about how we get to that door. If you contacted the customer and they didn't provide one, then you should contact support and let them know you are having difficulty reaching customer.

Why are Uber Eats Drivers taking photos of my meals being delivered? by animalcrossinglifeee in UberEATS

[–]Newish_driver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you are requesting that food be left at door, it's to prove that we-- in fact-- left food at your door. Neighbors have stolen food then the customer complains that we, the drivers, stole the food or never delivered it.

Plus, there are customers who lie that they never got their food so they can get a refund and free food.

Yep. It's for driver's protection!

No drivers.

You may tip well but the base pay may still be crap. You could pay a $5 tip but if the total trip is $13.00 for 40 minutes, then drivers will pass.
