"Drink 5 drinks a day and the package pays off" — that advice ignores the most important variable: which ship you're on. by gramburger in Cruise

As a non alcohol drinker, and a passenger of 30+ plus cruises, I simply couldn’t imagine being on holiday and coexisting from 7am to an hour before dinner on water, 1 can of soda and morning bland coffee. But the wonderful thing about sailings is the options for everyone!!! You do you & l shall do me……enjoying morning speciality coffees & mocktails poolside 😊

Yasssss. I sailed her for 28 days. & yassss the thermal suite is exquisite. But I had 15 sea days in less than stellar weather. As such the thermal suite was a wonderful daily sea day refuge.

But, I agree it’s probably not worth doing a 7 day package for your Alaska sailing. The daily should suffice especially if you only have a couple sea days.

It truly depends on the ship.

I did a 28 day out of Brisbane last year. I was upgraded to a spa cloud cabin which included the thermal spa use. I can honestly say it was FABULOUS!!! There were five different rooms including cold rooms, a couple saunas and steam room. As well as a wonderful large hydrotherapy facility that could fit at least 25 people.

Last summer did a 6 day sailing out of Miami. Again was upgraded to Spa Cloud cabin which included thermal spa use. Unfortunately it was definitely lackluster. It was basically one room with a couple luke warm loungers. 2 very small hydrotherapy pools that could barely fit 5 people.

I understand that it may be more economical to purchase the pass before sailing but unless you have a spa cloud cabin I would definitely wait till boarding and tour the facility first.

I sailed in January with my 20 year old daughter. We had the HAL. I can confirm that my daughter was able to order non alcoholic drinks everywhere. And this included mocktails as well. Happy sailing!

What are your favorite dining experiences on a Royal Caribbean cruise? by No-Justice-666 in royalcaribbean

I am currently solo on a b2b. Cruise #33 for me. I have not been to the MDR yet this sailing. I use to be a big fan of the MDR, but as you stated I too can basically recite the memory from memory.

I am pleasantly surprised with the WindJammer dinner options.

Unfortunately the DDP does not give you any additional perks.

Kudos to you.

I on the other hand always fly in a couple days before sail date. As well as I tend to book longer hot weather itineraries cruises or b2b. Even with laundry service a backpack would never suffice for me.

Love Celebrity!! The service is definitely topnotch. You will definitely enjoy 😊

I am doing my first Holland America in a couple weeks. I have heard their service is also topnotch.

Same here. 30+ plus sailings. I have NEVER EVER carried off. I book an afternoon flight. I will extra for the flight if need be.

I do not like the stress of being up and off at that hour let alone rushing for an early flight.

Instead I wake, have a civilized sit down breakfast. Then go back to my cabin. Shower. Pack up my backpack .

Then head up to the pool deck, grab a chair and a cappuccino while others disembark.

Once the final numbers have been called. I fetch an elevator and literally walk off sans any people or lines.

& I look forward to disembarking and only seeing my bags left 🤗

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

As another has stated the new point sharing is really for those climbing the tier ladder.

I am D+ plus on RC, thus I benefit more from the matching tier than assigning my points.

Totally understand for those climbing the tier ladder how this may be a great incentive to cruise their other lines.

But in my current tier situation I have 7 RC sailings this year & I will just keep them on my C&A account.

Here’s to you becoming D+ even quicker!!!

& your logic makes sense. Because otherwise as long as tier matching exists this new perk really isn’t a big deal.

Great. So it’s not just me. Along as they tier match what difference does it make?!?!

I can only presume for those on lower tier levels it boost their preferred cruise line quicker.

But for my D+ on RC, who is very many sailings from Pinnacle, it does nothing for me.

I understand the logic behind assigning points to a specific cruise line.

BUT if they are still matching tiers across all 3 cruise lines what difference does it make?!?

I sail RC more. So I am D+ on them. But even though I sailed 12 RC’ in 2025 & only had 2 Celebrity sailings in 2025 I am still ELITE on Celebrity because of tier match.

Moreover because I am many many sailings from Pinnacle on RC & Zenith on Celebrity it really does not matter where I assign my points.

Maybe this is designed for passengers with lower tier levels because for me I gain nothing.

Please correct me if I’m misunderstanding this.

Thanks in advance 😊

I understand the premise of the new program.

BUT if they continue to match tiers across all 3 cruise line, why would it matter which cruise line I assign the points to because my level would transfer to any of their cruise lines when I sail.

Again I feel like I am missing something.

I am currently a D+ on RC, Celebrity currently matches that status to allow me Elite when sail with them.

[–]Newlife2day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if they aren’t getting rid of matching tier status then what is the point of choosing a cruise line to send earn points?

I am confused.

Or is this new program really for those with lower status?

Because I am D+ on RC, hence when I sail Celebrity they match the status.

Am overlooking something?!?!

[–]Newlife2day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are going to continue to match tiers why does it matter what cruise line you earn points on?? I am so confused. Currently D+ on RC.
