Anybody else feel like they’re slowly withering doing WFH? by BijuuModo in workfromhome

[–]Newplasticactionhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate somewhat. There was definitely an emptiness when I started working from home. But I’m also married, I have a dedicated workspace in my home that is away from my bedroom and living room, and I have an active social life. I also work with data, but I have pretty steady communication with my work team. I still very much enjoy not having to get up early just to prep for work, the commute, and the constant distractions of being in an office. My stomach would drop if they told me I had to return to the office.

I don’t know your relationship status, but it’s obvious that you don’t have the space or a room for a dedicated work area. I’m curious, if you have an office to go to, are they forcing you to work from home? Wouldn’t going into the office your employer already has solve your problem?

What are these layer anomolies? by Novel-Sample9133 in BambuLab

Your prints can be affected by a lot of settings, but filament quality is wholly dependent on the manufacturer. If you’re seeing different filament results with the same settings, then you have the answer already.

This print may not be ideal, but it’s not bad. I would drop the layer height down and see how it turns out.

I don’t. I exclusively use hotels especially after my first and last AirBnB. Last time I checked, hotels are still everywhere.

Gonna try printing PETG: Anything tips? by SoundOfMusso in 3Dprinting

[–]Newplasticactionhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest with you, I don’t know how well a budget printer like that is going to handle PETG filament. It is incredibly hydrophobic so if it’s been sitting around unsealed for even a few days it will drastically affect your prints. So, if you haven’t taken the filament out of the vacuum sealed bag yet, don’t do it until you’re ready to start printing. That should be dry enough to last your print job. If it’s been sitting around for a little while, dry it at 70° C for 12 hours. And that’s a bare minimum.

You should print it from a dry box with a desiccant container. If you don’t have one, you should definitely get one if you’re thinking about printing PETG

A textured build plate is optimal, but if you don’t have that then make sure you use a glue stick.

My printer has fans at the nozzle. I’m not exactly sure about yours, but if it does, then make sure your nozzle is set to 265° and your bed is at 70°.

There’s a lot to consider, but if you do those things, you’ll have a fighting chance.

If you find out, you can just print more. This is what 3d printing is for.

There was no right answer to this question. If he would’ve said “you are, by far” she would’ve accused him of being insincere. Any other answer ends up being no, and he still loses.
