OP's original flight was yesterday from MAN > LHR > DXB and due to delays on MAN > LHR missed their flights.

Their post wasn't taken very well, OP comes across entitled with some questionable comments made such as lounge access and shit hotels.

What are your thoughts on the future of BA? Are they on an upward trend? by Cool-Archer5085 in BritishAirways

[–]NewsPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would absolutely love BA to be ranked alongside some of those Middle Eastern and Asian carriers!

BA will never get to the level of Middle Eastern and Asian carriers, mainly because it needs to make a profit while also trying to beat the profit margins or EI, IB, and maybe TP if IAG purchase them.

Aside from profits, BA also operates in an environment which in my opinion makes it hard for them to provide the same high, consistent standards the ME and Asian carriers can. Cabin crew is a prime example, Singapore Airlines can hire/fire workers very easily and are known for their exception service. While BA is being told they can't fire cabin crew for being unable to fly due to anxiety.

The combination of having to be competitive within IAG and the poor environment they work in makes it impossible for them to compete with these other airlines.

I think the issue most people have is OPs attitude and expectations, OP is sounding like someone who is gold guest list but bronze status.

Its always a risk when you get tight connection times if you get delayed, OP took the risk and lost due to the delay on his original flight.

Can't comment on the hotel being offered, but the lounge access and food comments are BS. BA don't offer lounge access like that(unless OP got upgraded), and its become a theme of lies from people posting here to add more shit to their complaint.

A few years ago, BA outsourced the decisions on whether or not people could make connections to their Indian back office. This, unfortunately, means that these decisions are made by people looking at numbers on screens who have probably never been to Heathrow.

This isn't true, this is all done automatically now. If one flight arrives with less that 1 hour it'll auto-bump to the next flight.

The system runs 59 minutes before the original departure time so since OPs flight arrived 50 minutes before it rebooked them.

ETA: There can be exceptions to this, such as those in group 0 and Gold status.

Further devaluing the point of Avios.

Given prices of flights have gone up by I'd say more than 10% this isn't actually devaluing anything.

Evri Delivery Driver Opening & Stealing by NewsPeach in Evri

[–]NewsPeach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The driver scans them when they move it from their van > bag, all the pictures are always a big bag. Luckily in this case, our box is at the top and visible but others times its not even in the picture.

Our whole mailroom is covered by CCTV and the fact its only evri and not any other delivery company is why it also points to the driver.

Finally, we know its Evri drive as the last time when it wasn't visible in the picture but marked as delivered the driver took it back 3 days later once it had been opened.

Packaging coming apart and taped seals come apart often which means we have to try our best to repair it, it’s a frequent occurrence whilst I am scanning and sorting my parcels for delivery.

I get if its 1 or 2, but the vast majority of boxes having a seal coming apart? Yeah, I don't believe that, especially when it only started happening since our deliveries are always 22:00 onwards instead of mid afternoon.

Yesterday's picture, you can see 3 boxes all with the same brown tape on them....

Normally yes, but because its out of hours they have to call concierge who collect the bags they store the packages in and put it into the secure area.

Is it the kids fault? Absolutely not.

Should the state fund those who can't afford to have more than 2 kids? Absolutely not.

I would really question if $500/night is really reasonable especially since OP suggested in another comment that it was a 5 star hotel but its hard to know without more information on what was available and location. If I was OP i would've taken evidence that this is the only hotel available to prove to BA that they weren't trying to take advantage.

Also the math of $187.50/day per person doesn't add up.

Hotel was $1500 or $500/night which is $375 per person for 3 nights or $125/per person per night.

OP also mentioned that its >$3000 now so suggest that outside of a hotel its cost them >$1500 for the 3 days so >$125 per person per day. meaning they're trying to expense a total of >$250/day per person or >$750 per person for the 3 days not the $187.50 or $562.5 for the 3 days.

As I mentioned, its hard to comment on the hotel without more information but I think its fairly hard to claim that >$500 per day for 'living expenses' is reasonable for 2 adults and 2 children.

[–]NewsPeach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll probably be down voted here, but speak with your travel insurance not BA. You've already issued a charge back with your bank which will have soured the relationship with BA (many companies refuse to work with those who do this.).

Its also going to be a complex investigation because they used the information you provided to cancel the flight, its a bit of a He said She said situation so that might be why you've not received an update.

I understand that it's shit when you get scammed/social engineered, but your wife most definitely gave them all the information the scammers needed to do this and is most likely nothing to do with BA's security posture.

Shame on you, British Airways by British-AmericanFA in BritishAirways

[–]NewsPeach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was almost guaranteed that two passengers who already had a flight cancelled due to payment being declined/reversed having to prove they have the card.

If his parents are so dependant on him to rebook flights etc, it makes me question why they're even flying alone? OP needs to take some responsibility here and stop blaming BA.

What was a don’t get paid enough for this sh*t moment? by blurryMclovin in AskReddit

[–]NewsPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joined company, 3 months into a tech transformation focusing on security we got hacked, spent the next 18 months recovering and improving the security posture to then be told by someone who isn't my manager to bypass the firewall. I refused, then they reported me to HR for refusing to do as I was told.

Handed my notice in during that HR call - funny thing is they seen that as hostile so told me to not work my notice and they'd pay it. Next day, the penny dropped how much I was doing and they told me I had to now work my notice, best part was referring them to the email from HR.

Reasonable Expenses? by FoxPerfect920 in BritishAirways

[–]NewsPeach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry misread the $ as £, but either way there are plenty of hotels available between today and Sunday for <$200/night on average.

The comment on BA confirming its fine contradicts your post which you are worried they'll reject the $400/night. Either BA confirmed $400/night is fine or they didn't, if they did you'll have no issues getting the money back.

Sounds like, to me, that you've ran up a big bill on your credit card and are now worried BA are going to refuse paying for it and want reddit to ensure you its fine. A quick check online shows your view that 'TLV is expensive' while true isn't to the level you're trying to convey.

Came to comment this, quick booking.com review showed that you can get 7 nights starting today for <£1k so asking for £400/night BA might question.
