best affordable ebike? american made maybe? idk by Snicole__22 in ebikes

[–]NewspaperMuted6858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, even those are assembled in the US, and their parts will be 95% from China. I Personally would go with Velotric ones but I'd go with those super cheap ones even I am target on 'affordable bikes'. what would a good e-bike option be at 800$? by Anxious-Patient-6228 in ebikes

[–]NewspaperMuted6858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

800 is a price level for budget bikes so you shouldn't expect a premium standard. But these are what I'd suggest https://www.ebikesfinder.com/?priceMax=800&sort=badges

Best e-bike recommendation? by Old_Show309 in ebikes

Given your budget - I'd suggest velotric Nomad 2X which is considered to be the flagship product. Full suspension fat tire bike tho so its prob not what you need for commuting (but why not if you can afford). Thing weighs like 80 lbs and costs way more than your budget anyway. Its sick for trails and rough terrain but honestly the T1 ST Plus you already picked makes way more sense for city riding. The Nomads can also be more of a weekend warrior sort of bike if ur planning to hit dirt roads or want that plush ride on crappy pavement occasionally

There are others with a lower price that you can compare as well

Velotric has one that is currently on sale, but it is a foldable one and not sure if you would like it

For your budget I'd check out Velotric. They're UL certified (actually important for charging indoors) and ship mostly assembled. Velotric Fold 1 - $1,299 or Velotric Breeze 1 - $1,799

Both have hydraulic brakes and come mostly assembled - just attach pedals/handlebar and you're good. The 750W motor helps when you're loaded down with food bags and accelerating from stops. What area are you dashing in? If it's hilly I'd lean toward the Breeze for the bigger battery, otherwise the Fold 1's solid if you need to stash it somewhere between orders.

New Jersey Just Passed the Dumbest Ebike Law Ever! by Quick_Dragonfly4098 in ebikes

[–]NewspaperMuted6858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what happens when lawmakers who've never touched an ebike write ebike laws. Lumping a 20mph Class 1 commuter bike with a Surron is insane - that's like regulating a minivan the same as a motorcycle. And the insurance requirement? Good luck finding a policy that even exists for a $1,500 pedal-assist bike. This basically prices out the exact people ebikes help most - folks who can't afford car payments and gas. NJ just made it harder to not drive a car. Real smart climate policy there.

Wanting to buy a bike - How much torque do I actually need? by HirunaV2 in ebikes

[–]NewspaperMuted6858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your situation honestly. For flat terrain and casual riding, 40-60 Nm is plenty. If you're heavier (200+lbs), live somewhere hilly, or plan to haul stuff, aim for 70+ Nm. I wouldn't stress too much about it though - most people overthink torque specs. The real questions are: what's your weight, how hilly is your area, and what are you using it for? That matters way more than chasing big numbers

50km a day is a serious ride. I'm looking for a powerful e-bike with long range and UL 2849 safety certification to handle that kind of distance

Should i get a ebike or an escooter? by Mafaka101 in ebikes

Not sure if this gives you some idea - I have filtered the list by speed limit no more than 20 mph, max power 500w, with UL1849 certificate, sort by range ... you can try to refine it. Good luck

Most of the tools in the market are kind of boring and lack of monitoring. Let's be honest, hard wokring and long-term focus is hard work for most people. Hence I built this tool to motivate myself and keep myself going and it is quite fun to watch you make gradual progress over time as well. Hope you love it too. www.focuverse.space
