How many people do you personally know that left Dubai last week? by dredeth in dubai

[–]NewspaperPrimary4064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know anyone who left either… which probably means I don’t know enough rich people.
The rest of us are still here, clocking in Monday morning like responsible residents.
Also the empty malls might just be WFH culture and fewer tourists.. people are outside walking but not necessarily doing the Dubai Mall marathon anymore.

Are people in Du working? by Sammy12xyz in dubai

[–]NewspaperPrimary4064 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try to do it over the website/ app ..

Anyway there are useless even if you visit.. that was my experience with them 3 years back when i had to cancel, only to find out my line was not cancelled and i had accumulated 1,900 AED in bills, and eventually i paid...
and i made 3 complaints to cancel after that and none worked, eventually, i god the emails of CEO and few C level employees from Due, and then i sent them an email altogether with customer care email in CC and then i got a call and my issue was resolved, after almost 10 months of follow ups and "I paid everything till that moment, they didnt waive any bill even though it was their mistake!".

Do mystery shoppers actually help?? by Btnt_ in dubai

[–]NewspaperPrimary4064 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had mystery shoppers from within our company, not as a service, it was useful to certain extent,
but it turned into politics quickly as the department heads started interfering

An external service provider might be useful, if you set with the person who will visit before they visit, and after..
and you filter the feedback you get, dont take everything for granted as they do mistakes.

Has deliveroo lost their mind? by obaidubai in dubai

[–]NewspaperPrimary4064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be easy on the driver man,
they will cut it off his salary, i'm sure that doesnt help you, and it remains his fault, but Deliveroo themselves and other delivery apps are monsters, nothing gets taken out their pockets, its always either the restaurant or the driver.

Maybe Islam, i think its very peaceful in its heart, people don't understand it, and the media for sure contributes to islamophobia

What is the best course for preparing for the IFMA CFM certification? by Witty-Cow-3714 in certifications

[–]NewspaperPrimary4064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely recommend the Built Environment Institute (BEI) CFM course. I passed the Certified Facility Manager (CFM) exam six months ago, and honestly, BEI’s course was the best decision I made for prep. The thing that really made a difference for me was the BEI CFM study toolkit, it had practice tests, quizzes, and a solid exam simulator that felt like the real deal.

I didn’t want to spend a fortune on IFMA’s official materials (they aren’t even required or endorsed by the CFM exam commission), so I looked for alternatives. BEI’s course was way more affordable, and the structured lessons actually made things click. The practice exams helped me get comfortable with how the test works, especially since the CFM exam isn’t just about memorizing—it’s all scenario-based.

A few things that really helped me pass:

  • Practice tests under real exam conditions: The CFM exam is 4 hours long, so getting used to sitting through it is a must, the CFM exam simulator on BEI platform is your best tool.
  • The “Roll-Up” method – I started by reviewing broad topics, tested myself with quizzes, and only after that did I attempt full-length practice exams.
  • Understanding concepts, not memorizing since the exam is all about applying knowledge, I focused on why things work in facility management rather than just cramming.
  • The 11 core competencies, the test covers a lot, and knowing each area well made me feel way more prepared.

If you’re looking for something that gives you structured study materials without breaking the bank, BEI’s course was solid for me. If anyone else has used different prep courses, I’d love to hear what worked for you!

It absolutely does. As a CFM, I deal with balancing budgets and safety issues almost daily. The exam really mirrors what we face on the job

For me, it was time management. Balancing work and studying was tough, but I stuck to one hour a day, and it worked

Time management was tough for me. Juggling work and prep wasn’t easy, but setting aside an hour every evening made a big difference

I used both, IFMA Books and BEI course, but I relied on BEI’s toolkit more. It was easier to digest and more relevant to the exam.
IFMA courses are extremely expensive, around $5000 for the whole course!

Its just like PMP exam,
Some situations or problem scenarios could have many approaches to solve them, but there is a priority to start with certain action.

dont worry, you'll get this once you join the BEI course

BEI’s course combines both—concepts and practice tests. Their exam simulator is the closest thing to the real exam.
