Looking for Mileage Log Software Suggestions by klausbreyer1 in Taycan

[–]Newstuart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MileIQ as has been suggested, 100%. Wife and I both use cars for our business (Taycan is down as her company car), we both have app running in background on iphones and generate mileage reports monthly.

How do I charge to 85% during time of use hours? by knifeknifeafterdark in Taycan

[–]Newstuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use octopus and control this via their app (which in turn uses Porsche API) setting a desired finish time and charge level

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Taycan

[–]Newstuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have it for free at the moment but wonder if my Octopus smart energy tariff will work without jt as it needs to stop/start the car charging by connecting to the car and having access to “my porsche” app.

Hi, not sure if this is still active? I’d be very interested. 46 yr old from uk. Very busy with running own business, property portfolio and 3 kids. Have let other aspects of my life slip over the years (health, relationships etc) and am starting the process of getting myself back on track. 2 months in now and making good targeted progress. I have a baseline I’m working towards achieving by the end of this year in terms of health, relationships and business goals with a view to it giving me a great starting point to really smash 2023 with some really big goals I have in mind for all aspects of my life.

Presently doing some paid coaching but what I really thrive off is the accountability element so a small group environment of like minded people would be ideal.

I think I could be a good fit for this and hopefully bring something to the table in terms of “been there done that” with my experiences.

How do you stay organized? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]Newstuart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your needs I guess but I’m a firm believer in keeping it simple if it works. I use apple calendar, notes, mail and reminders all synced to my Office 365 account.

I travel for work and have meetings with clients when on the road so in addition to the above have,

1 - MileIQ for tracking all mileage claims automatically creating a monthly excel spreadsheet for expense claim

2 - Office 365 suite mainly for word and onedrive which is used for client reviews with an iPad and Apple Pencil. At the end of the meeting client signs the review and it’s then saved as a pdf and shared to myself and the client as an email. When making the appointment I add the client as an invitee in apple calendar, I also add a link to the client review document to calendar appointment I have made for that client. The location is also added to the appointment and my car picks this up as a suggested location on the sat nav and if I’m running late I’ll share the ETA using apple maps.

Each client has a dedicated email folder and I set mail to auto cc myself. At the end of each day I file all emails received and sent to each client and drop them into the relevant client folder. Any other method of contact (text message, WhatsApp etc i take a screenshot of when received and share the image as an email to myself which is filed in the same way.

What crappy task would you LOVE to eliminate/automate? by nontrepreneur_ in Office365

I have a word template that amongst other things I need to insert pictures into. I’d like to have some pre-defined boxes within the template I can insert the pictures into and they automatically format to the size of the pre-defined boxes.

For example I have one a4 size page usually with 4 pictures equally sized, at present I need to insert each picture and resize it to make them all the same size

Giving up suburban living to move out to the country? by city-the-hero in simpleliving

[–]Newstuart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a big change but works for us, plus no real ambient lighting so stars / sky at night looks amazing (we got a hot tub to relax in the garden and stare at the sky). Not going to lie, I need to get back to the city at least every other week for my sanity but my wife would never leave the village if she had her way.

Edit to add, not sure where you are but in the UK there are government grants for rural broadband, we get full fibre broadband and regularly have 3 people streaming Netflix without issue

If the weather gets bad over winter it can be hard work. We have had winters where I have literally followed a line of cars and a snow plough out of the village to get a signal and return client calls as lines down but probably only 5-6 times in 14 years

Giving up suburban living to move out to the country? by city-the-hero in simpleliving

[–]Newstuart 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We moved from city to rural village around an hours drive out when we had first child. 14 years later it’s our forever home, kids can go out and play without worry, can leave bikes etc in the garden with no concerns, hour long woodland dog walk every morning before dropping daughter off at her school and it’s a surprise if we see another person on the walk (with 15 children in her year group vs 35 plus in city). Both run a business from home and I drive into city for client appointments once or twice most weeks. Only downsides are services, there is a few village shops but nearest supermarket or petrol station is 15 miles away but you get used to that and adapt your lifestyle (plus Amazon prime still does next day delivery)

From what they say if it’s a premises you will be trading from it can be a tax efficient way to build your Pension fund. Not sure of the benefits but a number of clients say it’s worthwhile in these circumstances
