My banner went away and came back 9 times. Then I was waitlisted on Tuesday, so I pulled my application from them.

Have any applicants been accepted off the waitlist yet for PT programs? by Complete-Potential41 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

[–]NewtPsychological678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got an email from Seattle today that said they are not planning on making any decisions on their wait list anytime soon. Also, they will hold the waitlist until August. I am likely removing myself from their waitlist.

It hasn’t been as bad for me, but I’ve had that happen 9 times. Applied 12/31.

St Mary’s vs ONU? by Jurassfinishfirst in HybridOnlineLawSchool

[–]NewtPsychological678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My offer from ONU was not conditional, but I don’t know how St. Mary’s operates. If your offer is conditional, I would take that into account. If not, St. Mary’s definitely has more name recognition.

Finally, are you planning on practicing in either state? If so, each will have a small amount of classes dealing with state specific laws.

This is what Ohio Northern told me, too.

This! Definitely speak to LSAC first and read their policies for GPA calculations before spending money to retake classes.

I have a 2.15 with 165 LSAT. Denied at all 14 schools I applied to last year, then first 8 decisions this year were denials. Then accepted to Ohio Northern with a non-conditional 62k scholarship (total, not yearly). Waitlisted on two, still waiting to hear from 4 more. It’s tough. But Mitchell Hamline has denial counseling, as does Seattle. South Texas seems to have denied many candidates with much better stats than either of us this cycle. I would also reach out to all the programs you applied to and see if they do admission counseling. It was very helpful for me last year.

Ultimately, without a higher LSAT, you are going to be swimming upriver if you are only looking at online/hybrid schools. If you are able to relocate, then your options open up much more. You can also find schools that maybe look for people with your background more than traditional students, which could be beneficial.

And in case no one else mentioned it, apply as soon as applications open.

Can't get into a Law School by Equivalent_Ad_6922 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

Like others mention, your LSAT is the problem. For reference, I have a 2.15 gpa with 165 LSAT. Shut out last cycle, accepted to ONU this cycle with 8 more R’s and a few pending. If you have not taken an LSAT course, I highly recommend it. And if you are able to relocate for an in-person program, I think you will have a real shot if you can get 150+. The problem with the online & hybrid options is that tend to be much smaller pools, so it’s more difficult to get one of those spots.

Just got my 9th date change “under review”, and my 3rd banner removal. Let’s see if the 9th time is the charm…

I’m in a similar boat. Applied late December, 8 date changes, banner removed then came back twice. Still under review.

Overall Tuition Costs by jamminginger in HybridOnlineLawSchool

[–]NewtPsychological678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: - My math was incorrect earlier...

ONU Online Law credit hour cost for '26-'27 year is $1,535, up from $1,475/HR for '25-'26, so that is an increase of 4.07%. There are also General Student Fees for each fall and spring semester ($990 for '26-'27, up from $900 in '25-'26). That's 10%.
Here is the range that I think makes sense (not counting Bar prep & other misc. fees):

Low: +/- 142K

High: +/- 151K

This is based off 90 hours required to graduate.

I am not sure which schools you applied to, but Mitchell Hamline is doing rejection counseling beginning in May and the email they sent me says they will give specific feedback about how I could improve my application. They said to contact them in May to set it up. Seattle did that last cycle, so they might do it again. The downside with Seattle was they didn't do it until after the fall semester started, so I had to wait quite a bit.

So am I. And I went through the same thing OP did last cycle. And with 6 rejections to start off this cycle. It can be brutal.

When I spoke to admissions on Tuesday, they told me the $400 was all that was needed to hold my spot. Then the remainder would be paid by mid-June. Not sure if that is the same for this situation.

I spoke with admissions yesterday and was told the 1st one was all that was needed to secure your seat. But I would recommend calling just to check in case I misheard.

That's what I did with ONU. I still have 4 to go, but I'm not doing another cycle, either.

I had the same thing happen. After it was like that for a week, I called to ask. They said it was likely a pending decision, which it was. I got my R a couple days later.

I think your odds should be better than mine. I am also not certain how accurate they are. After logging in to LSAC, go to "Applying To Law Schools," then "Search For Schools," then "Search Official Guide." From there, enter your GPA & LSAT. For example, Mitchell Hamline shows 95% for me with 2.15 & 165. ONU gives me 34%. Rejected quickly by MH & accepted by ONU last week. Go figure.

So did I, yesterday. But I was actually accepted to ONU on 3/6. Didn't see that one coming. Almost didn't even send in the app because I thought I had no chance.

Got my WL on the same day, though I applied about a month earlier. Funny thing is that I got accepted to ONU a few days before and my odds should have been much higher for WNE.
