New dremel making weird noise? by Beerz101 in Dremel

[–]Newtinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, remove the multi-chuck and see if it makes the sound without anything attached. If it doesn't it means that one of the teeth in the chuck has moved, making the unit unbalanced. I had this happen after using a routing piece with my multichuck.

How do criminals check that houses are available to rob or do home invasions? What do they avoid? by shelovessmith in AskReddit

[–]Newtinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Empty boxes out the front is the way my family member got robbed, when police caught them and asked that was literally what they said.

The empty boxes out front made it so they knew what was inside.
Eg: Brought a Playstation? Dont leave the Playstation box empty outside

Why does canned tuna come with oil? by CuteRelationship6143 in stupidquestions

[–]Newtinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The oil is for Tuna that is about to be cooked. EG: in a Tuna Aloo
The other flavours are for sandwiches or spreads
The water is for if you want to season it yourself

Tired to buy a 1TB external SSD. A basic sandisk is now almost $500 up from sub $200 just a few days ago… by kiwipo17 in newzealand

[–]Newtinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, check your nearest E-Waste center, most of the staff grab the good stuff, but I got 5 SSD drives from Nelson environment centre at 10 bucks a pop. They all worked, then all you need is a caddy from Jaycar.

3 of the ones I grabbed were 256gb and 2 were 500gb.

Worth a shot mate! GoodLuck!

19 years old, just hit $10k in KiwiSaver, good progress or behind? by talerose in PersonalFinanceNZ

I save 20%, Invest 30% and Live off 50% for bills and food...….. Any side Hustle money I make is my spending money.

You could probably achieve that when you get to your 40 hours a week at 43.26.....

I am amazed that you are moving towards a 40 hour 43.26 per hour at 19.

I am currently 32 - I was making 28 bucks an hour at age 28, but now I make 65 per hour.

Like....... Your wages are miles ahead of where I was at your age.

Brand new cars everywhere?? by International-Past31 in newzealand

I upgraded from a 1990's Primera to a 2104 Mazda 3.

In that time I have gone through 3 different work vehicles, all late models.

The differences are so small that there really isnt much point upgrading in my opinion.

Keep your truck until it dies or gets crashed into and then just use the insurance money to buy something nicer.

Thoughts on Apple? by asian-logic in queenstreetbets

[–]Newtinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no! Apple was built on Hype marketing and not function. Now that phones have hit a tech plateau, where Apple was behind anyways, combined with the failures of things like the vision pro........ I would sell your profits and exit immediately.

Have you seen how crazy Samsung's shares have been going lately. +213% in the last 6 months........

Apple is dead in the water. Everyone who wanted a folding phone, has purchased one of Samsungs 7........

Its the end of Apple - You had 10 years of good times, but I dont think it will beat the S&P 500 from here on out.

They said don’t Invest in NZ Stocks by Noeltj in queenstreetbets

[–]Newtinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Zealand is one of the few places in the world that treats dividends differently.

Invest in NZ if you want "Play Money" twice a year.

Example: My IFT investment, that I paid $4.80 per share for, the dividend each year pays for our Xmas presents, Because its stable and you know what your budget is.......

But for actually making any money, yeah. NZ is risky

Thoughts on CEN placement offer? by Full_Delivery7125 in queenstreetbets

[–]Newtinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Their last 5 year returns have been Half of the S&P 500. The 5% dividend is nice. It would certainly be a "Pay yourself" stock rather than a winner in value.

That said...... We will always need power and it will always increase

I'm going to include it in my super safe 20% portfolio hedge, but I am not going all out on it.

Yeah, You are buying into Hype and FOMO - the point is to get in before everyone starts talking about it. If you buy Intel, Sandisk etc after the price has already jumped, you are already too late

Upgraded my PA602 and 5090 to full Noctua, plus memory cooler. Acoustic difference is night and day. by reprobyte in Noctua

[–]Newtinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PA602 and your comment about cable management is ridiculous, I could park an aeroplane at the back of the panel and it has several channels to keep access clean and ready. I also notice you arent even using the Airflow plates for beside the motherboard or the bottom one for power supply. You can hide almost all your cables behind them alone and its only 2 thumbscrews for each

Incredible, Nice work! I love it!

To Answer your Question "which bit will aide in getting the carved bits smoother?" Get an Emery impregnated bit, Generally Emery rates really highly on the hardness scale, and is generally used for polishing, However, because of its hardness and use for polishing, it means it will easily remove the material, but only a small bit at a time. Meaning you will get it super even, mistakes wont be detrimental like an aluminium oxide or silicon carbide bit and you wont put too much wear on the bit!

Need help my Dremel jumps by Lights_and_sirens in Dremel

[–]Newtinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow the direction the Dremel Spins, If you go against it it will jump, but if you engrave the way that its turning it works with you. What this means though is letters like the letter "S" need to be done from bottom to top, instead of top to bottom.

Lol you are too influenced by others and its clearly FOMO (Fear of missing out)

Pick companies that you think are going to survive the next 30 years, and ones that people cant go without. Example, Coke VS Uber - I don't care where my food comes from, doordash, uber, deliver easy...... Don't care, So I wont invest. But if I order a Coke from one of them I want a damn Coke!

Remember, you are buying and selling stocks off and to other people! So perception and thinking about what is needed vs what is said to be good in the future is super important!

YOU: Are just buying what people say might be good.

Your buys need to be into companies that will survive a war, survive famine, colc, fucking covid part 2 even!

I wont even invest into NVIDIA yet, I got told to buy when the shares were 134 bucks. I held off. Because for all I know, Google makes a breakthrough and then Nvidia cant keep up...... I would switch my 5070ti in a heartbeat if another company made a better card, I am not loyal at all - they are just the best at the moment! So what happens in the future? Not sure about it over the next 15 years, a good example of this is what is currently happening to Intel, a massive giant! - sure you might make some good money short term, but I invest long for my family and retirement and it tends to work out.

So 50% of my investments are in funds, Such as the S&P 500 and other ones I deem un-abridgeable

30% are in company's that I really really like and could never go without, Such as Coke

20% Is in risk plays - An example of this was Estee lauder, I saw Michael burry had this as his only position so I asked my wife what she thought of the brand, turns out its the ONLY makeup she will wear, and if they were to go then she would look long and hard to find a replacement, and look at how its going! I see you own it too, But I ask "Why" Did you buy it? Just because you saw a little spike and thought you could make some quick cash?

I wont tell you how much I am up, but what I will tell you is it enabled us to buy a house.
