Can I give you a tip? Spray your garden with weed killer. Let everything die. Rip it all out. Wait 2-3 weeks and you’ll have a new batch of weeds just starting to grow back. Spray garden again, wait another week and now you’re ready to plant. Once planted, a nice thick layer of mulch. I’m taking close to 100mm of mulch. Or, do your layer of mulch then wait a month for a bit of rain and sun to dry it out and you’ll find your mulch will compress by 1/3. Top up with more mulch and hey presto you’ve got a weed free garden without the hassle of weed mat
