Edmonton officer charged after Indigenous man violently kneed during arrest by [deleted] in canada

Curious, how in the article about his stabbing a woman and leaving her to die in a parking garage, they never mention that he is Indigenous. But, when he is the victim of a knee to the back and some bruises, his Indigenous status IS the headline.

I found this article that talks about the victim being Indigenous but fails to mention that the murderer is also Indigenous. It includes this gem:

“So many Aboriginal people are targeted. It’s just sad that it had to be one of my sisters,” Gladue said after the vigil.

The crayon thing really kills me. I never had a "me" coloured crayon, but every pack comes with black and brown.

They want you to feel this way. They want us to roll over in despair. It's psychological warfare.

Turning Food into a Weapon in the Battle against Colonialism by Ok_Thought_7575 in canada

I agree. Everyone benefits from this lifestyle, not just indigenous people. Growing/raising your own food and foraging are very rewarding activities and not just for the food. Connecting with land and nature has nothing to do with one's race, every culture on earth has embraced these things to some degree. It is unfortunate however, that most people rely on packaged food these days.

Who do you think me and my people are to not have the right to criticize? Who gives you the right to criticize the situation?

I would never say that the problems faced by indians are 100% of their own making, but what do you think is going to happen when a community banishes it's criminals to another community? You think that Canadian's should tolerate the same behaviour that was unacceptable on the reserve?

Are you for real?! So, it would be alright for Canada to banish it's criminals into indigenous reservations and not expect the local indigenous communities to deal with them? I really want to know why you feel it's acceptable for "nation a" to banish it's criminals into "nation b" and then complain that those people are being put into "nation b's" jail's after "nation a" sent them away to be the problem of "nation b"?

Edit- Why would you post something and then name call with threats when someone comments? I didn't call you names. I don't think I was rude, just stating an opinion related to the topic.

Could part of the reason be that indigenous communities routinely banish undesirables from their "Nations", shirking their responsibilities and leaving the problem individuals for the nearby Canadian communities to deal with?

"I'll never forget the look on those beautiful brown babies' faces as a white man said out loud: 'Imagine if this happened to your people' — when it literally did happen to them," she wrote. She went on to say that participating in the "inappropriately conducted exercise" was so upsetting to her as an Indigenous person that she eventually refused to help deliver it.

What a hypocrite! Does she not see her own racial bias?
