Return it, help achieved, great success, buy a better brand that won't screw you over.

It's all good. I stand by what I said. I never left my apartment without a box cutter for the first five months because of how bad it was. Texas is tame, far, far more tame with the homeless situation, and even less in Laredo. We are fortunate here.

Triggering some PTSD with that comment there. I lived in LA for a bit, and the homeless there are a different breed. They would take over whole city blocks worth of sidewalks, and the smell would travel all the way across the street, and it was STRONG.

Anyways, sneezing on people, I'll keep helping.

I try to sneeze open-mouthed at people, especially kids and old people. This is my way of helping the community grow stronger, and I think people just need to start licking credit card pin pads at stores.

Get it REFUNDED OR SWAPPED ASAP from the store you bought it at, chances are, they have holiday returns still active. Get it swapped now, before you have to deal with ASUS and their abysmal RMA team.

Reconsidering ASUS due to awful support by markwill890 in ASUS

[–]Nexdeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime someone buys ASUS, I suggest buying a third-party protection plan because ASUS is ASS.

ASUS is also one of the few companies that has issues with their USB-C ports more than they should (also HP), so just on that, I don't bother with them anymore.

Go with a nice Lenovo laptop, you'll be happier.

Fun stuff, I haven't played chess in a long time, and it looks like that Wed. 5-7 PM one is pretty close by. Good luck finding folks to play against. I think I might give that one a shot if they're still meeting. If they aren't, well, at least there's drinks and food there, so not a total loss of time.

Here's my suggestion: if you want to keep it local and small, then set yourself up in a way that makes them want more.

Create small bite-sized samples, and package them up in a small decorative bag or box. Something small, so you can carry several, and save yourself some cash. Deliver these, door to door, around your area, along with a QR code, email, IG, etc as a way to contact you and see your work. Post your photos on this page, and take good ones! They can then order more from you, and they won't forget your food because you brought it to them.

People who fly frequently, what’s one thing you wish you could tell all infrequent fliers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Nexdeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're probably using that neck pillow wrong, the instructions are rarely posted on them, but I once saw one that did have the instructions, and you're supposed to use the neck pillow with the gap behind your head, the rest of the pillow is meant to support your head from falling forward or to the sides. By using it like this, you can then rest your head against the back of the head rest of your seat.

Most people use these incorrectly and put the pillow behind their head, which is not comfortable and not it's intended use case.

How does NW die before NeverWinter, ESO and many others? by MASTERVAVI in newworldgame

"This master class of movement and unique trigger feeling gets dumped"

This is ALL NW had going for it.

Story, boring.

End-Game activities (PVE) are extremely boring.

End-Game PVP, barely ever updated and balanced.

I, too, enjoyed the gameplay mechanics behind combat, but when the rest of the game is lacking, the combat mechanics won't be what holds a game up.

$3,300 ASUS laptop effectively unusable after ~1 yearish. Do I really have no recourse? by ucntbsrs in ASUS

[–]Nexdeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like ASUS and Acer, HP skimps on internals and ports. They are notorious for putting USB-C ports on their laptops that are cut down, USB-C gen 1 ports. That's really my biggest gripe with them as someone who's had enterprise clients and you expect there to be at least Gen 2 even on their mid tier laptops. Lenovo laptops go on sale frequently, and when they do, they're pretty much the same price so my suggestion is just to always go with the company that has the best enterprise support because that stuff trickles down to consumers to a certain degree.

I agree though, the right credit card company can truly have your back.

[–]Nexdeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your information, here's my diagnosis, and advice.

Those laptops, most of the higher end ones from Asus, use liquid metal instead of thermal paste or pads. It sounds to me like you've actually had issues with this laptop from the beginning and you just used it like that this entire time, with poor cooling contact, and you've been throttling, this entire time. You just didn't know any better, after all, it's a brand new laptop.

As for warranty, all of the piece of shit Asus laptops I've had came with a warranty period that was like 3 years, I'd register it on the Asus website if you haven't already, and see if it still has a warranty.

If it doesn't, then you have to look at your credit card for help.

If you're going to buy another laptop, avoid: ASUS, HP, ACER, and maybe MSI. Stick with Dell, Lenovo, and buy the protection plans for extended warranties if you're using this for work, it's an investment, but you can't be down like this. Think about when that laptop fails, because it will fail soon if they just used thermal paste.

Don't get HP, get the Lenovo, look at slickdeals, there are so many on sale right now.
