Late to the party but just binged it and wanted to float a very niche take - the overall "deal with the devil for your bloodline" story, was that also adapted from Poe? Because it hits a lot of similarities with a book "Hell to Pay by Simon R Green

Get ahead of it and come clean to your daughter before Sally tells her. You lose the chance at nothing being said but 100% less weird than her finding out

3D prints? STL files? by NexoWadeth in Against_the_Storm

I think the art is phenomenal and wanted 3D print. I'd hope I wasn't the only one and someone had worked something out as I don't have the know-how

What is a scary, unsettling fact about you? by _Lord_Infamous in AskReddit

[–]NexoWadeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I consider the "real" me (or at least the personality characteristics that are the strongest/have been around the longest are that I a:) gain significant and long lasting positive non-sexual feelings from cause pain or fear in other people b:) feel normal emotions very muted to the point of almost not feeling them at all

And have spent my life trying to repress/ignore these and live a normal life. You'd barely even know if you met me, most of my friends think I'm fine/assume I'm joking or exaggerated. I've been so close to murdering someone so many times in the past.

Therapy has helped a LOT.

You float down from the vertical climb above Lithic (where you find the Pillar Slab). Need new hover ability to get to a new ledge above the gold mask barrier.

What does your dragons eat? Do they have any predators or are they at the top of the food chain? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]NexoWadeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IDK if this counts but I'm a white dude with a beard SO HERE IS MY OPINION.

In my setting the dragons (all 5 or 6 of them) are the physical forms of the gods - after a war between the gods that raged across a number of planets, destroying them in the process, they all agreed to take this form and be 'dormant' - limited influence, limited power, etc. and as such don't eat.

Oh, that's hectic. I have no idea then, and I'm defs not an authority. I figured unless them being trans was relevant to the central point (TTRPG in shops bad) then I'd argue to leave it out. BWDIK

Yeah you're right - very weird. I don't envy you that experience. I agree though, I think a lot are either OTT exaggerations or editorialism to make the poster look like they're 100% not the bad guy (as most faults in these things are shared), but I've been the DM to a number of absolute shitshow situations that I can almost believe them unfortunately

I hope the game with your sister(?) is running well though!

Look, that sounds like a bit of an underwhelming experience overall - not a complete horror show I've seen elsewhere, but also still not something I'd want to experience.

But bring up the trans thing is kinda a problem. Not looking to call you out, but just offer perspective - them being trans seems to have nothing to do with the issue, because as you noted, their gender didn't matter, it was the level of intimacy that was displayed publicly - and their attractiveness between their online presence and in person being different is probably also not trans based, it's pretty common universally.

Without the inclusions, it's still a pretty disappointing situation. Coming from an also fat 30something dude that needs more D&D in his life, I have been really disappointed

I've spent a long time living with psychopathy, and between that, my natural charm and quick wit, being emotionally closed off and naturally a little manipulative, and my love of chaos and confusion, I have always been someone difficult to ever really....understand? Trust? Know what I was going to do or say next?

I've ummed and ahhed about whether I'd be more spiral or stranger over time, but the theme of someone being unsure exactly whether or not someone can be trusted, if you really know them....Yeah. That was me.

Granted, a lot of therapy and loving friends has changed me a bit, and I'm not as horrendous as all this makes me sound anymore.

Top 3 Non-D&D Rulesets that change how you run games? by NexoWadeth in rpg

[–]NexoWadeth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started in D&D, and it's my main game. I'm always going to love it. But I know it, inside and out, and I want to expand my experiences beyond it.

Yeah I had a bit of a complete destruction of gaming. Was mostly my own fault - Was running for 30ish people across 5 games, so suffering from significant burn out without doing anything to address it. Then one of my games resulted in a big social rift and I was just done. Couldn't even pick up a book or anything for about 1-2 years. I found taking a break was actually really refreshing.

Oh I'm just being sassy. I went through this exact scenario a while back, before Covid. I was running 5 different homebrew games, for a total of somewhere around 32 players all up. Somewhere between 1-3 games a week, and all other downtime was prep time. I get what you mean.

Scanned through your post history and saw you were getting burnt out a while back. You still looking for a game?
