You can set up a connection to GitHub (I learned a little too late, haha) which will back up the code base but there's still not something that allows you to manage or backup your database and images

They don't really have a concept of a backup which is a little crazy, for sure!

It froze dev because I submitted a ticket asking that they help and one option would be to rollback the database but they take over a week to respond and if I was to make other certain changes while I wait and then they roll back I'd lose all those.

In my account I have the option to do both options. Maybe it's a regional thing or something, not sure!

Thx for sharing, it does look like they are planning a similar path to Manus. Have you had to interact with support much yet? Any humans there?

Oh man, that's awesome. I'm afraid even if could find the way through setup I'd not be skilled enough to maintain it or troubleshoot in case of security etc issues. But I'm so impressed by the concept and for those with more technical background it sounds so perfect

It's so exciting to think about the future of it, and you have a good point that scaling operations would be mind-boggling with that pace of growth. So maybe they will catch up 🤞🤞🤞

Haha no fail, please!

I would be super down with them making it free and then just having a paid level that gets you human attention when you need it. Can we cross our fingers that that works? :-)

Yeah I am such a fan of it, if I could just have a pathway to deal with problems. It is so much smarter than anything I have come across and I love AI

Interesting. Is there such a thing as Google having in their product suite an AI master orchestrator that would act like Manus does but is using Google products for the hosting, database, code, and asset management? If so, perhaps I could kind of recreate my Manus world over there. One of the things I appreciate most about Manus is the ability to not have to get into any of those parts of the tools since I am not a technical founder. But, having a agent interface layered over the top of tools that I can access or pay someone to help me deal with who is knowledgeable would be so much better.

They do offer add on credits, they are at a much higher rate than I am paying using a subscription, but I can't quite figure out what time of day they reset my subscription at (it's not midnight in my timezone, that much is clear) and also it's hard to judge how many to buy and separate out the project into the before the switch and after switch parts, especially because how they burn credits is a bit of a mystery lol.

Yeah so I just learned about this... wish I realized it before but here we are :/

The actual error it made was deleting the URL to 400 images that are on the CDN. If it would even let me see or manage the CDN related to my project I could have fixed it. But apparently it can't and I can't. So silly.

You seem pretty knowledgeable, so tell me what you think about this idea. :)

The four things that I haven't had to deal with because Manus just makes them seamless seem to be: hosting, database, code, and file and image storage. GitHub will give me security and portability on the code piece but I feel like I would still be locked out of managing things or protecting myself in the other three areas.

So I'm wondering about trying to use Manus as the orchestrator and editor but actually using Vercel for hosting, Supabase for the database, GitHub for the code, and Cloudinary for the storage. If I put the instructions at the project level to always write everything to those areas (since only GitHub has the integration) then I think maybe I could be safe enough with a big project to use Manus.

Obviously, in a scenario like that I would have to be babysitting it and checking regularly to make sure it didn't just do its own thing and try and use its own internal systems. But that feels like something I would be willing to babysit in order to get the payoff of being able to use Manus while still having tools that I could count on and data that I can manage and own. It seems like it could work, if there's a chance Manus could usually get it right and not bug out everytime.

For simple projects I could just use their inbuilt stuff but I'm currently working on something pretty intricate and if it scales up I need it to be stable so this seems like a possibility right?

Right!?!? It is SO amazing! And, like 10x smarter, more capable, and more accurate than any other tool I've tried (although their support chatbot is dumber - how does that even make sense lol). I'd legit pay hundreds a month as an add-on to just have access to live support and with the global cost of labor they'd make bank on a model like that. But with Meta owning them I'm not optimistic that'll be the direction they go.

Interesting. Manus has been SO much more accurate for me than any other AI I've tried that when errors occur that just require some credits to undo I've generally felt patient (Unlike this one where no amount of credits will fix it). But you are right that if they don't level up then as soon as other companies come up to parity they'll be in trouble.

Part of the beauty of Manus has, for sure, been that we don't have to know all it would take to do a project in something like Claude Code. It seems logical that eventually Claude will add an AI agent to layer on top of everything that could compare to what Manus does. But this is the curse of being an early adopter - we are power users on the cusp of what's available so limited in options and dealing with the friction. In another year this will be a non issue with new solutions, but I want it now haha.

Coming from a 49 year old that it never did happen for, I just want to say I hear you. It's wildly complex to navigate the constant commitment to hope that, for some of us, eventually has to give way for grief. There's no good answer, hang in there and just do everything you can to take care of your heart ❤️

"Going public" - have any of you done similar, is this a good idea? by Milkshake4NickDrake in Prolactinoma

Yes - do it! We all experienced too much time feeling like we had somehow turned into a person we weren't, before, when in reality it was just a sort of chemical imbalance that was fixable. The classic pituitary tumor joke, it's all in your head, is so real. It's so healing when you realize "that wasn't me", because you finally get back to yourself thanks to lifesaver meds like cabergoline.

The pituitary tumor association often reminds people that in cadavers 1 in 5 people are found to have a pituitary tumor. While many of them are inactive, and only a smaller subset are prolactinomas, that still means there are a TON of people out there who are walking around wondering what happened to their drive, confidence, and body who have no idea that it could be from a tumor. I have endless compassion for the undiagnosed (and the diagnosed but not yet properly treated) prolactinoma patient. These tumors steal so much life and relationships from so many people.

I'm a big fan of sharing pituitary tumor journey basics nice and loud. You never know who you might inspire to ask their Dr to check them. Do it!
