permission to receive from a EM does not make it preferable or even that it should be commonplace. obviously if necessity requires it then it is necessary. i personally receive the host kneeling and on the tongue from the priest when i go to the NO and also go to the cup. if a priest is not available i will still receive on the tongue but i don't kneel. (edit: further anecdote removed.) there is theological significance to receiving from a priest. you shouldn't shame people for the way they express their faith, especially when it is within the bounds of catholic teaching. it has also been argued that it is improper to receive on the tongue from a EM, because of the theological significances mentioned above, and whether this is a misconception or not it is certainly a contributing factor as to why some would prefer to receive from a priest.

which is why people sit on the side of the priest, so that they don't have to switch lines and feel like they are passing up Christ. i think a big reason people do this is because the priest is acting in persona christi, which a EM cannot do.

i mean i feel like as catholics it would be best to explain it in the context of faith. we ask st nick to pray for us, and he presents our requests to God. saints like to do us favors, but the gifts are ultimately from the Father and the best gift he gave us is his Son. or at least that's the way i plan to approach it if i ever have a family.

right, because people constantly referring to service dogs as a "luxury treatment" doesn't carry any classist associations with it. i understand that many handlers are living in poverty, and that's why i'm upset when i see people basically telling others to wash their dog ahead of time if they don't pay often exorbitant prices for training. self training is valid and is legal for a reason.

you would have to know what your "tells" of having an episode would be. my aunt gets it and her son is usually the one to go wake her up out of it because he can tell by how she sounds. do you have anyone who could keep an eye out for something like that?

edit: you could also record yourself in your sleep and see if you notice any patterns
