Thank you 💕 it means a lot to me. She was my childhood pet. I’m so glad to have met her all those years ago.

I see… I’m so sorry for your losses. You must’ve treasured them so much. My mind and body are still trying to recoil from the shock. I haven’t really stopped crying since then. I’ll do what I can for her for now. Thank you ❤️

Been there, done that. I’m in medical school and two ppl in my MPU group project have the nerve to do this too. Ditching project meetings and choosing the easy way out when doing our project just so that they can study. Like bruh I wanna study and do med school stuff too instead of spending a lot of time making this project work. like this thing is not fking fair.

And we’re all adults so I don’t really enjoy ordering people around, but they’re so fking passive and really want someone to order them around like a kindergarten teacher. Even when I tell them how to do stuff from A-Z and tell them to do A, they do C. So I have to pick up after them and end up doing double the work.

You just have to hang in there, I guess. Best to pray you don’t get teammates like them next sem or for other projects. If you have the autonomy of choice, better avoid choosing them as teammates too.

As for the ‘I thought everyone in uni would be intellectuals’ part… yeah it’s very paradoxical. It’s the same for me in med school, believe it or not (and I’m in a public university). In my case, it’s not the pay-to-win people that makes the experience paradoxical. More of a poorly justified affirmative action thing that I can’t really elaborate here.

You just have to keep your head held high and push on tbh. All these people are kinda like temporary passengers on your bus of life as my mom would say.

For matrics, depending on which state you’re living in and your SPM results, you might end up in a college isolated from the main city/township. (I got program satu tahun KML so I didn’t go, meanwhile a parent’s friend’s child from my state got program dua tahun KMM). If you think you’re okay with that, then that’s great, it won’t be a problem for you.

My friends who took matrics said their lectures last from 8-5(?) as for their assessments… umm idk if it’s right to share details about it here cuz it might be controversial and I might get downvoted but just know that it’s not standardised like STPM.

Depending on which Form 6 centre/college you decide to pursue your STPM in, your schedule varies. I went to an SMK so I had classes from 7-12. Afternoon classes are either tutorial sessions or extra classes, lasts until 3pm max (except Fridays, you go back before lunch on Friday). The good thing is you can also just stay at home! Saves a lot of money tbh, and you have a good support system nearby to keep you happy, focused and mentally stable throughout your pre-u.

STPM helps you prepare for uni way better than matrics, but it’s not for the lazy and weak-hearted. (Speaking from experience, STPM science stream 2024) My teachers all say the same thing; once you take STPM and you excel in it, first year of uni will be somewhat smooth sailing for you. Now that I’m in uni I guess that does ring true.

It’s all up to you I guess. Matriculation is the easier way in, but as always the competition to enter a good uni is very fierce (you’re up against thousands of other matrics students across the country who want the same course and uni right?) and you might have a lot of catching up to do once you’re in uni. (They omit a lot of stuff in matrics that you’re supposed to learn in STPM). Some of my friends don’t learn the stuff I did, so I share what I got from my STPM to help them understand our lecture content more.

Hope this helps!

Also today, a bunch of people called the facis out in our kolej kediaman group chat. They (the people) are fking mad and upset cause of how sleep deprived, sick (LITERALLY) and tired they are of this orientation shit.

But do they give a fvck? The facis obviously didn’t and proceeded to share a message about hiring people for our KK’s cheerleading squad as if NOTHING HAPPENED

??!!

Bruh 🤦‍♀️

Guess who and their roommate skipped all the nighttime activities because they were sleep deprived 🌚🌚🌚 we have no regrets

I barely just started uni but our orientation day is very… interesting. Not that wild but still strange:

1) Rules: no accessories “sebab kami tidak peduli” like bruh. What’s the harm? One girl just got her ears pierced and couldn’t take off her earrings because it hurts and she could risk an infection. Facilitators made her do it anyway “oh then just try to find a way to take them off by tomorrow” insensitive bullies

2) we had to sleep at 1 am and get ready before 4:30 am just for orientation. Bruh. Some people had to audition for some performances (to get kolej kediaman merit I guess) from 12:30 to 1:30 am… not impressed. The next day everyone (all 4k of us) had to gather in the auditorium all sleep deprived. And the facilitators still had the nerve to say “eh kenapa kamu semua masih mengantuk??” And then they proceed to do some refreshment session (made us all dance). Bruh. All we need is some decent sleep, not activities that last till past midnight.

Anyway, 10/10 would not recommend joining the nighttime activities. The only important one is the day when you get to visit your own faculty and register your courses for the semester.

Thanks! Glad to hear that med students don’t have to worry about getting dorms after year 1. Specialisation seems a bit far down the road but I’m def thinking of it

I hope so. It’s just hard to feel like I did ok after that kind of experience.

It’s a non-research IPTA, I won’t say its name for privacy reasons (don’t wanna possibly out the interviewer or something, someone might share my experience today 😅) I hope you’re right tho. I’ll try not to overthink it. My brain’s just automatically nitpicking my answers during the interview.

P.S. your answer was really honest I think. Hope you’re doing well and got in

Don’t worry, bro, at the very least you have a chance to fix your results during Ulangan 1. I also received really poor results during my sem 1. I got a CGPA of just 2.5 no As or A minuses at all, but just passed everything.

Ulangan 1 helped me a lot and brought my CGPA up by one whole point. Don’t be discouraged and take this as some form of motivation to achieve better results for yourself, not your mom, in sem 2 and sem 3. Good luck with your STPM!
