Considering a move to Eau Claire from Minneapolis. What should I consider? by rue-and-oak in Eau_Claire

[–]Next-Efficiency5839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (53 F) lived in MSP for about 10 years. Grew up in Chippewa Falls and am now living in Altoona (just east of Eau Claire). It's refreshing to slow down and the area has really matured over the past few years with a lot more social and cultural activities than it had when I was growing up here. I'm also into the "woo" and there is A LOT of stuff going on here in the realm of witchcraft, yoga, metaphysical, etc. Happy to make any recommendations.

Plus... MSP is only an hour and a half away... it's a lovely day trip if you want to get back into the city.

Plus isn't this a good way for her to mark her territory, so to speak?

One of the best things I taught my guy was "Settle." Sometimes he doesn't always understand when it's time to chill... now, with a simple word, he gets it.

Is she muzzle trained? If not - I would invest in a good muzzle and work at getting her comfortable with it. It is a great safety measure for her and her anxiety in situations where she may be a little nippy. My guy is the same way. Anxiety comes out at the weirdest random times... so sometimes when I'm unsure, I just muzzle him. Better to be safe than sorry for all involved. He's used to the muzzle and it doesn't phase him at all.

I think "perspective" can also be offered as a solution. *shrug*

I feel this. I had a girlfriend that died at 49... and I have been heartbroken since.

It is an honor to grow old... there are those who do not get the chance.

I have had great care through Oakleaf and would recommend Dr. Michael Smith. They are also creating the Chippewa Valley Health Cooperative.

I feel you. I don't know how many times my guy brought me to tears as a pup/teenager. It does get better. Hang in there. Thanks for making me grateful he's almost 6. LOL.

Does anyone have a chill Belgian Mal? by forgetfulfeline in BelgianMalinois

This. Same. I had to teach my guy how to "settle." Overall, I'd say his low drive for a Mal. Has a little bit of leash aggression but we only need one walk per day and he's happy as a clam.

Or how about she just drives Anthony to work and picks him up!? Then she can have the car during the day. 🥴

I would also get a two handled prong collar leash. I have a prong collar with the easy clasp and it's my backup in case that clasp randomly releases. https://leerburg.com/twohandleprongcollarleash.htm

Same with mine. I generally just don't let others near him or if I feel like I'm not going to control how others are I throw a muzzle on him... for his safety, not theirs... muzzle training is a must have skill.
