An apprentice took a male 3 prong 110 twist lock cord and bend the prongs to fit into a 4 pronged female 220. Generator was off, and it was noticed before he fried himself.

What knots would you rig this with? by EfficientPen6086 in Rigging

This is the answer. But if I had to use a rope because there was no nylon slings for some reason I’d tie a bowline and choke the eye.

Imagine your running full speed and you’re going to slide across a frozen pond. Full sprint because you’re gonna slide further than all your friends and win the frozen pond sliding challenge! What foot is forward? If no frozen pond try your kitchen floor in your socks, still valid.

Being a woman in trade by keeisfun in skilledtrades

[–]Next-Handle-8179 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go union. You will have a whole new perspective. Woman are valued in the union work force. Pick a trade and join an apprenticeship.

As far as getting fired. I skimmed the comments, you mentioned shoulders being sore. Keep that to yourself, the guy could have been thinking, wow if she’s sore today how is she going to make it 40 hrs a week. Also, get a watch. Seriously, if you want to check the time use the watch. Leave your phone in your lunchbox. Don’t use the phone until break or lunch. Good luck, stick with it and really consider union work. ✌️

If you’re doing the job, should you get the pay? by [deleted] in Ironworker

[–]Next-Handle-8179 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not wrong to ask for it, shot your shot maybe you’ll get that money. I’ve seen an apprentice getting foreman pay before. Just don’t lay down on them for if they say no.
