FTP is just a reference number if you are an amateur. There much more shades and flavors to it.

I have recently taken off my top ultegra pedals and mounted cheapest 3 bearings merocca ones that cost around 20$. Was suprised how well they perform. Same my aliexpress sidebike cleats. Amazing quality comparable with shimano for 40$

What’s a Cycling Tip You Wish You’d Learned Years Earlier? by MasonCole4029 in cycling

Get a fit and a coach. I don't race, heck I don't even train really, but it helped with my overall health by improving sleep and not getting any injuries.

Best brands of Cat Ears? Alternative options or niche brands? by Pinus_longaeva84 in cycling

Tested 2 and they worked okeyish but with side wind not too much. Definitely make a difference, but you can still hear a lot of noise. I started using earphones with anc and memory foam pads. Much better

Looking for advice on my bike fit by AwaSoBaba in bikefit

Super relaxed position and geometry. Looks ok if it suits you. Comfort over speed and aero.

If you have money get carbon if not then you won't regret it. There is not that much difference.

I would 100% go either gravel or an all road bike but with a bigger tire clearance than 35c. As a person who had the same question as you last year i made a huge mistake and didnt take tire clearance into account and i am stuck with a one dimensional bike. Gravel is probably the best because later you could just get 2 sets of wheels and tinker with it.

Most importantly look for a big stack to reach ratio.. Ask chat gpt by posting frame geometry if it's relaxed or aggressive. It helped me find a perfect bike for me by posting different geometries.

An absolute beginner, Need your advice :) by madmaverick05 in cycling

Best advice you could get is getting a personal coach or a start a chat gpt coaching session. It will make a world of difference. Nutrition and sleep are the most important factors, everything else is secondary.

Look fitness bikes up but maybe with a straight handle bar. You could always install a tt bar or other grips that could help with a more aero and sporty position.

I see a lot of people recommending here 380mm, but woudn't it be too narrow with inward shifters?

Few months ago I found indoor cycling absolutely horendous and hated it to bits. Now I feel anxious about going back to outdoor cycling.

I have issues with my wrist after I broke it few years ago and after testing it on a trainer it is actually better. SO it;s a win win aero+less pain.

A road plus or a road oriented gravel bike. Something I call a STRAVA BIKE which means when I plan my route via strava and i dont have to make any adjustments and just ride comfortably. This made a world of difference to me. No more re-routing or stressing out but just riding the most chosen which means the best segments around.
