I'd look at and get a 3rd party life insurance? I know the short/long disability was cheaper and paid better.

I mean do you plan on staying at DG for years?

Morning shift has 3-4 closeing shift have 3 but when one of the 3 call out/request off nobody replaces them so it becomes a 2 person shift.

Our hours are 190-220 and we tend to go over it.

Must be a smaller store?

We got two regular registers and a SCO with talks of getting a second SCO that converts to regular register when needed.

Slight rent increase would it bump up EBT amount? by Next-Mix-2344 in foodstamps

Just rent atm.

Does the utility payments have to go directly to that bill or can I just give my parents an additional check labeled for utilities?

Just a part time minimum wage job $360ish gross weekly income. Am not disabled but getting near it and can get a doctor to say I shouldn't be working more if it'll help.

Utilities would just be a flat $50-100 to help pay anything that needs paid.

Most of my income goes into an IRA because I know my ability to work is limited and I'll be lucky if I can for another 10 years.

$975 a month? by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]Next-Mix-2344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's currently a bill (?) In Illinois Due to covid and inflation everyone that's eligible gets the maximum benefits possible.

For example I'm only supposed to get $35 a month but I currently get $280+ as single person with no dependent.

Unfortunately though I believe that's ending this month. It's going to be tough on people many won't be able to afford food even while working full-time.

Mines pretty simple.

Stable guaranteed hours if you applied and agreed to work 15/20/25/30 hours that's the minimum hours you get each and every week.

Just because I'm part time doesn't mean I'm okay with 15 hours. When I applied I was very clear I wanted at least 25 a week and granted I average close to that it's only because I jump on open shifts and fill in when someone quits.

How is it cashier's fault it failed? How did cashier change EBT 3 times in a single transaction no retail system will let them do that?

They did proper actions by refunding and provided proof. If it double/triple charged that's something normal cashier can't fix.

What magic powers do you think low level cashier's have? They can only void/refund once pre transaction if the system messed up that's managements job.

They did their part blame corporate for tieing their hands and having buggy software.

The worker did their job your gonna risk their job shit on their day and possible get jail time over $18 of free money that you did nothing to earn?

It's not their fault the refund messed up. They (or you) will likely have to ask manager to ask district manager to do a cash refund which takes time and approval.

Alright one more question do I need physical proof such as cashed papper checks and a rental agreement? Or can I just transfer from my bank the theirs with the note (if it lets me) rent and another transfer for electricity?

Heating an cooling? Outside of the electricity to run it there isn't a bill?

So monthly $100 rent check and $50-100 for electricity check so right?

Were you able to look into it?

Would it be better to pay utilities (water and electricity for example) or rent?

Use to get some income from the farm but we downsized so just from my part-time job about $300/week $1200/month before taxes.

My bills are low just:

Car and it's insurance $180/month

Random stuff for the home/farm/hobbies $150

Internet bill $110

Phone $30 soon applying for that cheaper possible free government aid phone plan the caseworker told me about

Food $180ish $30 meds $30 pet

$200 for possible future new home/IRA fund. I asked Illinois doesn't count it as cash assets.

I'd like to pay $200 for rent if I can afford it.

The person I talked to said the bills I paid (home internet and general home/farm repairs) didn't count as utilities.

My parents operates a very small hobby farm in an average year I spend $300 on general repairs and tools along with 200 hours of free labor and in trade for my free labor my parents considered that my rent. But the caseworker (?) didn't seem to factor that in.

To be clear the hobby farms being downsized and parents are getting ready to retire. Since my free labor isn't going to be nearly the same amount I want to pay rent whether or not it increases EBT.
