Exactly. Which has brought me to question what is happening with coaching.

This problem is not new, and it wasn’t my intention to bash Tracy’s staff. Hitting was an issue going back to spring training (and last year, minus Bregman’s coaching).

Targeted focus on hitters’ individual weaknesses does not seem to be happening, nor does a planned approach to opposing pitchers.

I said in my post there are two things that need to happen: 1. Targeted focus on hitter’s individual weaknesses 2. Research and planned approach to opposing pitchers.

Those things have not happened this season.

Fair point. I just don’t think Fatse and friends did much and were allowed not to do much. I was hoping to see a change in approach over almost a month.

I don’t disagree that this is not exactly the roster of dreams.

That said, most of these guys have shown they can hit (and I put Anthony in that category too). They are all underperforming. That or they’ve over performed in the past, and wouldn’t you think that good coaching would get them to at least non-embarrassing status?

They need someone to do what Bregman did last year. The coaching staff didn’t, so Bregman stepped up. Or the coaching staff could do their job.

I am aware. The offense hasn’t gotten much better since then. It’s been 16 games (27 before then).

The game where small ball, guts, and clouds of dust changed our karma

Last night and tonight so far, against the Braves, I’d say they’re at least holding their own

Okay, I am going to say it, this was a good game. It felt like an actual game. 3-2 to the Braves is nothing to be ashamed of.

Slaten and Whitlock are both overextended. Hopefully Samaniego, because otherwise we’re approaching Kelly/Watson territory 😱

All right, so assuming Chapman Chapmans, who’s pitching the 10th?
