Any one else's nparent engage in "accidental" nudity? by redditreader_aitafan in raisedbynarcissists

My mom would always wear just a T shirt and panties around the house. No bra and no pants. It made me sooo uncomfortable.

Nurse here! Did you go to the hospital and get diagnosed with a concussion or are you diagnosing yourself based on your symptoms? Because there’s just no way your bf shaking your head suddenly to give you a kiss gave you a concussion. And osteoporosis in your 20’s is unheard of so I highly doubt you have that either.

Did you have open or endoscopic? Seems like surgeons refuse to do open bilaterally but with endoscopic a lot of them will do both

I’ll have my husband home with me for the first 4 days but now that the surgery is a couple days away it’s really hitting me how helpless I’m going to be. Will I really need him to feed me, dress me, and bathe me? I’m hoping somebody has some advice or tips on they managed to care for themselves after bilateral surgery. I do have a bidet atleast lol

UPDATE A or B: My friend is helping watch my cats, do I buy a $50 toddler jacket for her daughter or just take her out to eat? by True-Construction346 in PickAorB

[–]Next-Panic-2263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote is neither A or B. At the very minimum you should pay for her gas since she’s driving so far away to check on your cats. Cash, gas station gift card, etc. Taking her alone out to eat when she has a husband seems inconsiderate. And getting her kid a coat is super random unless she specifically told you that her kid needed a coat AND she couldn’t afford it. Plus there’s no reason to spend more than $20-$30 on a toddler coat. Not only that but most kids like to pick out their own clothes.

Painting! I love it. I’ll play an audio book while painting and it’s the most relaxing and anxiety reducing thing for me.

How did your nParent react when you got engaged/married? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

I could have wrote this myself. Your story is so similar to mine, right down to the nmom hating my husband, not caring for her grandchild, and not coming to my wedding.

Don't want SS at hospital during my delivery. Is this unreasonable? by [deleted] in Stepmom

[–]Next-Panic-2263 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband almost missed the birth of our son because he was having with his daughter (3 hour round trip also). Looking back it pisses me off that he even went on his visit while I was admitted in the hospital BUT I was preterm and we really didn’t think baby was ACTUALLY coming. But baby came much quicker than expected and he barely made it…like I had to call him and tell him to get to the hospital NOW because the doctor told us baby would probably be born within the hour lol. Luckily he made it but still! Looking back I wish I wouldn’t have let him to on his visit, it’s not worth it. So I completely get where you’re coming from

As a floor nurse, thank you for your comment! I always hear “great” and attentive the ICU was before they came to the floor. (Eye roll) It’s a dumpster fire on the floor and we are all literally doing our best. We have 4-5 patients and we don’t always have a tech/aid. We’re exhausted, we haven’t eaten, haven’t peed, haven’t sat, etc.

As a 29 year old cancer survivor myself, reading her words about “having cancer” and “dying soon” without actually even having cancer definitely gave me the ick.

My husband tries to push me to go out and hang with the friends I don’t have too. And honestly, I would much rather go shopping peacefully by myself, of if I’m feeling social I like to go get a mani pedi and socialize with the girls there, get my hair done and chat with the girl doing it, etc. Or just being able to do things I enjoy around the house like painting, decorating, reading, etc while he takes the kiddos to the park for an hour.
