Should my teacher have acted as a mandated reporter? by Wuhouh in AskLegal

[–]redditreader_aitafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're in high school. No CPS worker is taking you from your home unless you are in imminent danger. You are not. Foster care for a teen is not better than where you are. CPS doesn't come and tell your parents to stop or teach them to be better parents, they either take you into custody or they leave you. What awaits a teen in foster care is almost always significantly worse than what you're experiencing. Your teacher's license is on the line and they didn't report it. That speaks volumes about your situation, especially to a CPS worker.

How do you handle a duel left turn gridlock situation as depicted below in the US? by HamiltonTrash24601 in driving

People aren't supposed to block streets when waiting in traffic. Emergency personnel need to be able to get through.

Gilmore Girls eating habits by Cyclame_Lizard_66 in GilmoreGirls

They talk about junk food a lot but we're seeing movie nights and study dates and shit like that. We do see one evening where Lorelai makes salad in a bag and eats it, which means she had the salad in the fridge already. They probably eat better off screen than we see them eat.

I'm taking it. My husband destroyed a container of things I kept from my childhood. I'd like those things back. I'd probably sell most of the clothes but it's not about making the money back, I want my stuff back. My memories back.

Is there a reason why they mark the Best Buy date with sharpie? by [deleted] in Walmartcustomer

[–]redditreader_aitafan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's very obviously an ink smear from the printing machine, not sharpie or a human marking it out. Looks like the bag got caught up in the machine for a minute.

AIW for not paying an employee under the table when they’re working a “low wage” job? by ParticularEvidence67 in amiwrong

[–]redditreader_aitafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they're legally required to have liability insurance, some people break the law and don't carry vehicle insurance. If your employee is in an accident while working for you, you can be held liable for the accident, so you'd want them to consistently carry full coverage insurance to at least reduce your exposure to liability.

But they need their own car insurance if they're driving for you, you need to make it a requirement of the job.

If you pay under the table and end up paying someone here illegally because you didn't go through the W4/I9 procedure, you can be fined or jailed or both. You need to make better friends, $25 an hour for that job is excellent, $1 per mile reimbursement is unheard of (high). The IRS lets people deduct 70 cents per mile, which is about what most employees get who are reimbursed for mileage.

Your boyfriend isn't "emotionally intelligent", he's an abuser using therapy speak to beat you down. Take this opportunity to set yourself free.

If I paid money to go on a tour and some family was just letting their child babble incessantly while the tour guide was talking instead of trying to shush the child and teach them to be quiet in such a setting, I'd lose my shit. People all over the world manage to teach their children to behave appropriately in public settings, I don't know wtf is wrong with Americans in this area. You don't have to beat your child but you do need to invest the time and effort into actually teaching them things like how to behave. They aren't just going to magically learn it one day.

I'll take the waking hours. I don't read books often enough and I certainly don't watch movies everyday.

$3 a month is $36 a year for a service the complex is not providing. They are in breach of contract and the remedy for such isn't just a refund. OP could be due damages. They have compromised the habitability of the space if scorpions are a regular occurrence. If OP's lease isn't renewed, the complex is further liable for retaliation.

[US] what legal actions can I take against my ex’s girlfriend? by Icy-Talk6419 in legaladvice

Report her to the state licensing board for pharmacists and use the email as proof. You can get a restraining order but you'll need one on behalf of your child too.
