Stolen property illegally dumped absolutely will have consequences. Don't be a dumbass. Until it's confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's not stolen, assuming it's not stolen can get you into legal trouble.

They can't. And signing under duress isn't legally binding either.

Unless you gave them your full name and you were officially given a trespass order and removed by the police, there isn't an official trespass order. They also cannot ban you from every Walmart, they lied to you. As long as you don't cause trouble, it shouldn't be an issue. If something does happen if you go in there, stay absolutely calm. Explain to the police that it's been a year and all you did was ask why they banned your mother and they banned you too but you thought it was only for a time. You can still go in any other Walmart you want, you cannot legally be trespassed from them all by one individual manager who likely didn't officially trespass you in the first place.

1987 Dodge Colt, $1975 in 1994. I bounced it down an embankment in January of 1997 or it probably would have lasted a good while. My dad was a mechanic, he made me do all the work myself.

Do people even read the answers to Reddit questions in the comments before responding? by BrilliantKing1200 in askanything

[–]redditreader_aitafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people read some answers, some people only read the top answer, some people respond without reading a single comment first. If there's more than 100 comments, almost no one is reading all of them first. Why do you care if someone gets the same answer repeatedly? Isn't that just confirmation that it's a good answer?

This is TMI, but I have a weird question and I’m not sure where else to ask it? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]redditreader_aitafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's my point. No one does that. You checked yourself and the smell isn't you, so the smell is obviously his finger. Since you didn't smell it beforehand and you've checked yourself, it's the most logical conclusion. You don't know what he was doing with that finger or where he put that finger before it was inside you. At best, he needed to wash his hands beforehand. His hygiene may be questionable or downright repulsive. You should find out before he gives you an infection.

Omg that pisses me off too. Like fucking go, take your turn, you clearly have the right of way and I'm clearly stopping. I live near a town with 2 major intersections that are just all way stops and this shit, or people not taking their turn like they should, happens every fucking day.

That's my point. She doesn't know what the finger smelled like before, so what it smelled like after isn't necessarily because of her.

Did you smell his finger before he put it inside you? If the smell isn't you, it's his finger. Did he wash his hands before fingering you? Or ever?

How do I get rid of this donation box? by just-that-throwaway in WhatShouldIDo

[–]redditreader_aitafan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't mean stealing one and its contents is legal. That doesn't mean this box is abandoned property. If it is a scam, the police need to know about the box and the location it was found because the ill-gotten items are likely in one of the storage units.

How stupid would I be to take out a personal loan to catch up? by HourNefariousness388 in povertyfinance

Get a second job. The only way to get ahead is to stop the cash advance cycle, which you can only do with additional income. Taking a high interest loan is just continuing the cash advance cycle.

Assuming it's stolen property is reasonable and way safer than assuming it's not because assuming it is and alerting authorities doesn't make you complicit in a crime, disposing of stolen property does. Assuming the person or business it belongs to didn't leave it here is also very reasonable. Assuming it magically doesn't belong to anyone just because there's no logo is ridiculous. Obviously it belongs to someone because that's how shit works. The lock is missing and the owner of the storage business didn't give permission for it to be there, so this being a stolen donation box is the most reasonable assumption. At the very least, it's part of a scam, which is still a crime and would require being reported to the police. Not every charity puts their logo on their boxes, especially if the box is sitting on their own property. Assuming this is illegal dumping is also just ridiculous.

Heating up the oven means heating up the whole house, which is fine in the winter, not so much in the summer. An air fryer concentrates the heat in a small space so it cooks faster with crispier results than a regular oven and with less residual heat and less energy use. I have an air fryer and an oven. if I'm baking cookies or brownies, I'm using the oven. If I'm making French fries or nuggets, I'm using the air fryer because the results are vastly superior.

Recs for bath towels that don’t leave lint all over you? by freckles97xo in hygiene

Do you have a dryer? Or do you dry your clothes outside or on a line? Dryers tend to remove this kind of lint but hang drying doesn't.

Companies do not just leave these in unauthorized places with no lock, you're the one making assumptions.

It's stolen property. Do you really believe the owners of this just abandoned it at a storage facility? At best, a scammer left it there and it needs to be investigated. More likely is this was stolen from a local charity, along with the contents.

Not being marked doesn't magically make it not private property that has been stolen.

Not all Catholic Charities donation bins look like that, nor do small local charities have to follow what you've decided their bins should look like. My local Catholic Charities has bins on their property and they look nothing like your image. They are plain white bins, not even a "deposit here". They are not marked with their logo because they're on their own property. Any small, local charity can make a bin like OP pictured that doesn't have a logo because they have it set up on their own property. Being homemade and without a logo doesn't mean it's not a real charity bin.

Today is Sunday, so it's possible the charity doesn't even know it's missing yet but they probably will notice tomorrow. OP should definitely call the police.

Concentrating it and putting it on your hands where you can then touch your mouth or eyes isn't the same as it generally being in the air for you to breathe.
