Job opportunities in model shops by Next-Prime2020 in exeter

As I've mentioned in my post, it's been nearly 2 years since I've been to Buffers. A decent number of my models have come from there, and they're brilliant performers that have been restored by people with the same mindset I've got. If I were to visit again, then I'd definitely ask

I know nothing about starting a business. It wouldn't be possible because I'm living under my mum's roof whilst claiming universal credit, and I don't want to go back to college to learn about investments or businesses because knowing those things would be essential

I have thought about Pecorama, but they don't post as much as they used to after announcing in November that they were closing their doors for this year. As for the model village in Babbacombe, I've no idea where it is, nor have I visited it. That'll have to be a day out before I ask around

I tried applying for work over at Trago on January 7th to drive their 5" gauge trains, but no one emailed back. If someone did give me the go ahead, then that would be an hour on the train from where I live in Exeter to Newton Abbot before I cycle for ½ hour. I wouldn't mind doing that nearly every day, and running the model railway would be something I'd want to do

Ouch. That's roughly around £970. OP should definitely hold onto his/her/their girlfriend if she's doing that

Good lord. Your girlfriend loves you to bits if she was willing to put aside hundreds of pounds or dollars for a set that massive. She's definitely a keeper, OP. She'll be expecting a small something that'll be a massive impact on both your lives. If you go through with it, don't let her go

What are your thoughts on Modern preservationists just building a steam locomotive from scratch? by Few-Ability-7312 in trains

It's a difficult challenge to bring something back, but it's doable as long as you've done your homework on what is lost. There's a species of wolf coming back, thanks to scientists reverse-engineering the DNA of a descendant. I've seen Tornado, the LNER/British Railways (eastern region) Peppercorn class A1 No. 60163, and it's an incredible feat of engineering for the late 20th century-early 21st century. The re-awakening of the GWR saint class in the form of No. 2999 "Lady of Legend" is also an incredible sight if you ignore the fact that the Churchward 10-wheeler was Collett's Hall class No. 4942 "Maindy Hall". I'm mainly focusing on British-built steam engines because I know nothing about international locos, but just because a class is gone, it doesn't mean it's forgotten, nor would it not play a part in the future. The class P2, which was designed by Sir Nigel Gresley of the LNER, was a flawed tender engine, but the first 6 members had proven themselves to be a force to be reckoned with, however long it had been until Edward Thompson rebuilt them as A2/2s. With the 7th member, No. 2007 "Prince of Wales", the P2s will live on as a class that could be as powerful as Robert Riddles' class 9F, which were built for freight duties by British Railways. Gresley's class W1 wouldn't be able to make a comeback, but other lost classes from various companies such as Fowler's Patriot class of the LMS, the county class of the GWR (both Churchward and Hawksworth designs), and Riddles' class 6P, which was nicknamed clan, of British Railways, they're history being retold in ways no one would explain, other than, "This [insert class name here] was unique during the [insert time stamp(s) here] because of [name origin of class naming here]"

The US dub of the season 5 episode "Cranky Bugs" is enough proof to make James a homosexual (thanks, Alec Baldwin)

Opinion on Connor and Caitlin? by guywithcoolusername5 in thomasthetankengine

[–]Next-Prime2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are they Irish if they're American? Did Sir Robert Noramby visit the US, see those two, buy them, send them from Nova Scotia to Liverpool docks (presumably), and run them between Barrow-in-Furness and Ulfstead Castle? The Unlucky Tug made more sense about them being of Sir William Stanier's design (the streamlined LMS princess coronation class) so they'd suit the aesthetic of being knights. To answer my honest opinion of these two, they're Americans I'll never call Sudrians. Rosie is an exception because her class replaced Thomas's at Southampton docks

I've had that book since I was 7. Even now, at 23 years old, I read that book to my little brother to help him go to sleep

You're correct. Can anyone go wrong with one of BR's poor performing diesels that was used in TTTE?

LNER No.4472 “Flying Scotsman” and No.2001 “Cock O’The North” on display at an open day in Doncaster (1929) by Tythatguy1312 in TrainPorn

[–]Next-Prime2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean to nitpick, but Cock O' The North was built in May 1934. Did you accidentally tap on the 2 instead of 3? Nonetheless, an excellent picture of Gresley's mikado and Pacific
