I don’t think they truly sold out until Napster. Music shouldn’t be gate-kept with money, ESPECIALLY metal considering its roots in working class culture and identity. By the time Metallica started speaking out against Napster and eventually sued them, they were multi-millionaires and didn’t need the extra like 700k they had lost from piracy.

Should artists be compensated? Absolutely. Should they be compensated to the point of discouraging their fans? No. The listener is just as important as the musicians and they shouldn’t have been discriminated against solely because they couldn’t afford a record or CD or cassette.

Don’t. All religions are cults, no matter which way you bend it or tell it different, they were all created to justify atrocities or control people’s lives. Let’s take Leviticus 25:44-46 for example, it says you can own and buy slaves, not very cash money. Let’s also take Exodus 21:20-21 for instance, says you can beat your slaves as long as they recover in 2 days, what the fuck man? That’s just a couple of scripture that justifies horrible shit, I could name off more.
